Pretty sweet burgundy 40 in the second pic...not to be confused with the other burgundy 40 that was soon to destroy some transfercase components shortly after that picture was taken.

This is my Dad's friend Bert out with him and the '80 BJ40 on a hunting trip. This truck would eventually become my first vehicle when I was 16 and got my driver's license. It was never this nice when I was driving it, most of the tub had rotted away and was patched with galvanized sheet metal attached with screws which was painted a lighter green for a really nasty two tone effect. It still ran with a huge dent in the oil pan when I traded it for a $1000 off the price of the bodywork on my wagon.
