Uh..... Toyota USA just dropped an explainer on diesels on their YouTube page. Please PLEASE let this be for a good reason!

Toyota is waging a very public battle AGAINST the full electrification of passenger autos.

Perhaps they've been investing in diesel technology.

I always thought a diesel/hybrid combo would be the sweet spot for effeciency. Maybe that's the iForce Max in the Tundra teeser pics?

With all the EPA trash introduced from 2016 on I would be amazed if anyone introduces a new Diesel engine into the consumer market ever again.

Chevy just released their 3.0 Duramax in 2019 and it's selling like crazy.

Where to start...

The big 3 will keep the diesels coming. Ford dropped the little diesel. It could not complete with there eco boost.
I feel Toyota will never import a diesel. They sell a crap ton outside the states and don’t need to invest the time to engineer all the EPA crap. They sell enough trucks without the Diesel engine. Tacoma’s sold in 2020 238,805 closest competitor Colorado /Canyon sold in 2020 121,428

Talk about having too much money

The video in the article is a fun watch!

 That dude's got some big ones. At 5:10 up the mountain was pretty dicey. Looked like he lost grip on a negative G in the middle of the turn. Could have gone real bad real quick.

I wonder why he didn't/couldn't do Pike's Peak this year.

So that's what a 5th wheel hitch is!
