I am back in Dubai after a long absence and went to the body shop working on a Model 79 project. I did not feel like going home so I drove through the Ras Al Khor auto market area and spotted something nice:

Here's my 79 project BTW (I will get around to doing more comprehensive post elsewhere but this was exciting to see and wanted to share)
There were some rust through pinholes in that corner, now nicely repaired--and not with plastic.
Here's the bed that they stuck on another 70 series for ease of access:
I have to decide what to do about bed liner....
They can do a raptorliner no problem but maybe that is not a good idea. I've never owned a pickup with a nice bed in it. What do I do!!!?

it does look really nice all freshly painted up, I'd be scared to put anything back there. If you plan on using the bed i would put some kind of protection back there, even if its just some sort of rubber bed mat
Good news! I actually found a place here that does polyurea for a reasonable price. I had just about given up finding any in Dubai.
Polyurea requires a pretty complex set up to apply involving separate feeds and in-process mixing with temperature control all the way to the gun.
And the bed is just about ready to be sent over.

You would be very surprised how much of that is used over in the middle east. Makes walls soak up bomb blasts without blowing apart.
What was interesting was that everyone just assumed I wanted Raptorliner, which I most definitely did not feel would be adequate for a truck bed I actually intend to use like my poor old 1991:
But once I actually found the place that did polyurea and had photos of the equipment suddenly they knew what I was talking about.
There seems to be an assumption at the workshops here that the focus is on short term asthetics.
BTW, I went by the body shop today (to drop off some of the ordinary 2K raptorliner-like product for them to test on something else) and found that the work is done and it is time for us to get the chassis over there to put the cab and bed on.
It was bloody hot today.
