Drove as far South in continental Florida (not an island) as possible to a place called Flamingo at the end of Everglades National Park. Basically just a ranger station, camp ground and boat launch/marina. About as far from civilization as you'll get in Florida but we did see some weird pink birds.

They were for light bars and lights that were on the roof rack. All removed for now.
