I have these “spacers” in my stuff when I ordered parts a few yrs back when I had acquired my 40. Are they glued on ?
They are.

There's also a factory packing at the top of the A pillar in the upper corner which my LX had but I've yet to find those.

Did your LX have the trim piece on the inside that covered the top cap to sides and back? 84 Australian troopy did. B Pilar to B pillar in one continuous piece.

I seen weatherstripping for the top of the A and B pillars on eBay.

Never in Australia except when I painted it. The legality would have really prevented that for the road.

But in New Mexico and Florida I removed it several times.

I've been very fortunate to be the first person to remove the top on three of my 40 series (my '76, back in '87, my NAS '83 in ' 89 and my '84 LX in 2005 when I painted it in Australia). This is very important to me because I'm meticulous about keeping all of the original parts. One of the biggest pains with the Packy Pig has been trying to obtain all of the correct parts to reinstall the roof.

Doubt my 76 has ever had the top off. Only 4500 miles non of which I put on it in the nineteen years I've owned it.

At some point I will remove the hard top to replace the side that are dinged up in the back. That only because I have a set of sides from the same 1/75-12/75 period in beige.

I doubt the whole hard top been has off my 70 I bought from the original owner. He had the head liner replaced by a shop in small town he was from. They removed the cap and used the pieces of the cracked weatherstripping when they put it back on. I have since replaced it with new OEM weatherstripping.

And factory drive flanges, rather than locking hubs. Very cool and super rare in the US. Beautiful! @Living in the Past

Rear door cards installed. Very happy with them @a1500ram . Thank you.

Do you not have a cover for the handle on the ambulance door?

Funny thing about drive plates. My 70 came with full hub caps on the front. Mentioned it to the seller. He said he has lockout hubs. Just removed the caps to lock and unlock the hubs. Sure enough it has second generation Husky hubs. The 76 does have driven plates. But it also full time 4WD. Has a Borg Warner transfer case mated to a Toyota four speed. This is one of two known. JTO out your way has the other one.

I can't recall where it was in my LX, but I believe it was above the door cards like on my 43.

I moved the handle there as it's where the holes are for the card and I didn't have enough clips without that being there to hold the corner down. I put two M6 nutserts there and mounted it just like Mr Toyoda would have done. I'll fill those higher holes with urethane and paint them one day. I'll need new rear doors one day anyway when I find a good set or get repros as these have a decent amount of bondo at the bottom where it looks like it was rear ended.

No handle cover. I think I sold my last one to you about 15 years ago or so if my 56 year old brain isn't failing me...... and it might be. It's not an LX, so I'm not fused. Although I do want to do a three wiper conversion one day like @Frankencruiser did. I LOVED that on my LX.

Stereo installed, seat heaters working- they work great! Now I can listen to music and have a warm backside when I sit in the 43 and make vroom vroom noises; which is the closest I get to driving it. An added benefit is that the microphone for the Bluetooth can actually hear me speaking: something no running 40 can boast of.

The first CD I tried in it to make sure it all works was The Highwaymen. I figure if Willy, Johnny, Wailon and Kris can't chase the bad juju out of the Paki Pig then nothing will.

It's got the fancy Bluetooth thingy too. But I like my CDs. At home I mostly listen to vinyl. So CDs make me feel all modern and such-like.

Just saw this God-like 110 on my way to pick up my son from school. Just wow. Not sure what engine it had, but it sounded spectacular.

I was looking at those dual exhausts… something along that route is probably responsible..Roush maybe?

That's the source for sure: rack looks the same. I just saw this one in Cincinnati on my way to the hotel about 20 minutes ago..... seems to be a Defender theme here.
