Nice solution to an uncommon problem. The joys of custom work. However, it seems to have been a "one bananna" job.
Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks my friend.

Yeap one banana job, just need a hot gun and a grinder.

I looking forward to catching up at the event.

I made a this mount to fit where the rear view mirror would go to hold my phone or eventually a small tablet or navigation device. I tapped it for a Ram ball to accept a variety of ram mounts. I am waiting on a small usb port to wire in and then I will clean it up and paint it.

It is high enough I am expecting the screen won’t get washed out by sunlight.

I made home from SAS 8 after having a blast. I drove it through Pagosa Springs and South Fork to take Stoney Pass into Silverton on the way to Ouray. I took a side trip up to Kite Lake on the way and saw some Moose hanging out.

The week went really well, started out running the Alpine Loop with a great group.

Tuesday I stayed in camp to replace a tie rod I destroyed, all my fault.

Wednesday I ran up Imogene pass with the Classic Cruisers crew and Bruno to name a few.

Thursday I made the whole loop driving Black Bear and returning by Imogene. @Polecat took a bunch of great pictures of the truck in action along the way.

Those that have followed the build for a while will recall I narrowed and welded an 80 series sway bar to fit my narrowed axle. Well the sway bar tore the welds apart which I knew could happen. I removed it and ran the rest of the week without.

I had found a shop that will custom make a sway bar, so I plan to order a replacement and reinstall it.

Friday we ran Yankee Boy Basin, Governor Basin, and Sydney Basin. Sydney Basin had an off camber section with a lot of exposure that raised our blood pressure some. It was a good way to end the week.

At the trailhead in Yankee Boy Basin.

I drove it home with out issue. The next big thing to do is charge the AC.

Great to meet you. What an incredible build. Yours had the least amount of drama among all the trucks in that Black Bear and Imogene group. Considering the capable rigs and experienced drivers in the group, that’s saying quite a bit.

It was awesome seeing the rig in action!!

Coming down Imogene, right past Poser rock... the wildflowers were popping pretty good.....

@Polecat it was good to meet you as well. Thanks for the pictures, lt is awesome to see it in action rather than all the still shots I got of it.

@matzell It was good meeting you as well, thanks for organizing the first run. It was long but I enjoyed it all. I am convinced a hitch pin should stay in my spare parts bin after it kept my steering together. I look forward to seeing your stretched 40 on the trail some day.

@2fpower I am glad you made it over to crash the event. Black Bear was one of the routes on my list, it was good to run it with you. I look forward to making a run with your Vera when you get it done.

@Greyscale the history is cool and you have to appreciate the folks and miners that put those roads in and traveled them with much more primitive means. The stuff they managed to haul up into those mountains is pretty cool.

Imogene Pass was closed after Friday, glad We got through before then. Picture in the tunnel.

Brandon at Classis Cruisers (or maybe Steve on his crew) took this video and posted it on Instagram. I am sharing his link because it is easier than trying to figure out how to do it myself. I am not on Instagram.

This picture was posted on the Classic Cruisers FB page by Glenn, not sure if we met but he got a great picture of the truck going down the steps on Black Bear.

I concur, amazing rig.
However, I did feel my masculinity being sucked away when I got too near it like I was being fed on, Milk Truck is butch AF!
