Do you happen to have any pictures of your 4Runner 2UZ fuel pump on your 80 series tank mount? You said it was the same plug and dimensions?

I'm curious what the flow difference is between the 1FZ, 2UZ, and 3UR pumps.

I think I have some but not with me at the moment. If I don’t I will pull it out and take some.

I did not search for flow rate comparisons but some of my searchers for 2uz fuel pumps showed the pump was interchangeable with the 1fz pump.

These were the only pictures I had. They don’t show the entire pump. In order to fit this in my tank I had to cut the leg the pump was attached to and extend it so it reached closer to the bottom of the tank. I don’t mind pulling the pump out this week if you cannot see what you wanted in these pictures.

Thanks so much for the pictures... I'm going to try and snag a 2uz fuel pump from the junk yard today. Logically, they have to flow more than the 1fz, and will probably be easier to find replacements in the future.

@UZJ40 It was a while ago and the more I think about it I don't believe there was a difference between the 1fz and 2uz pumps. Some searches showed the same pump was interchangeable between the 80 and 100 series. The engine size is not that much different 4.5-4.7. I think I went with the 2uz pump because the vehicle I pulled it out of was ten years newer and from a lower mileage vehicle than the 80 pump I had. Regardless the 2uz pump is probably easier to find in a newer vehicle. I would be more curious to know what the pump comparison is like between the 4.7 and 5.7 liter engine for what you are doing.

I like that small battery setup they are using, now I researching the ATX-30 battery. It looks like it could fit under the passenger seat pretty easily since my gas tank is underneath in the back.

I have been spending hours every night and some weekend days working through the 80 harness. I started out identifying systems and removing them but quickly found that I couldn’t identify every plug and wanted to avoid removing something I needed. I wanted to identify every plug.

I printed out each section of the wiring diagram from a 93 80 series which identifies each plug. Each plug was labeled as I identified them but there were still some challenges.

I shared before that this harness came out of a 93 South American 80 series that had a carb. 1FZ. The harness did not match everything in the manual I was using. I found plugs that were carry over from the earlier 91-92 80 series and engine bay plugs that don’t match anything on the diagram that I have. There are sections of harness the must be made to be universal replacements in different spec. 80 series. Some harness wires dead end at factory plugs where the opposing plug has no connection. For example, the harness had everything to wire a factory front diff locker but the rear harness did not.

I am about 95% done removing what I don’t need. Some plugs I left in place to keep it organized until the connector is replaced. Having traced everything through this harness the wiring project seems less daunting. Here is what is left.

I think that's very common. The main engine bay harness (not the EFI harness) from my '89 FJ62 donor vehicle had the wiring an connector for a factory front diff locker also, but not the rear.

I own the Toyota hard copy manuals sets for a 91, 93, 97 Land Cruiser, and 03 4runner. I wouldn't attempt a project like this without an electrical manual.

I have been distracted having to work on my plow truck but finally got a break from it to play with the Vintage Air heater/ac set up.

I ordered it a while ago through @samc2447 he answered all my questions and was super easy to work with. He made the purchase easy and I appreciate that.

The unit showed up a while ago but I am just now getting to the mock up install. I got it setting in my the cab, so I could see where some of the hoses and wiring might be routed.

I had ordered the surefit unit because I was having trouble committing to adding holes and vents to my dash. Now that I have this unit sitting in there I am wondering if I would rather have the vents in my dash and go with a smaller unit.

I am going to stare at it some more and sleep on it for a couple days. Then move on one way or another. I expect I am putting too much thought into this already.
