Also installed a marine bus bar with 100A (glow) and 50A (start) fuses pre-solenoid. Battery is for mock up.

I am jealous.

It's a POS. No sense taking that all the way to Oregon. You can just keep it at my house if you like. I'm at most 15 minutes from David.

:hillbilly:

just about done. I cleaned up all of the wiring and fired her up. After a sluggish start she started to idle fairly smoothly. I still have some air in one of the lines (probably one of the injectors under the crossover pipes which are a bear to crack open ). Other than that we are short one AC line and the exhaust and then it's off to the races!

What is the red knob in-between the intake plenums?

I so want one in my HJ 47, nice install, way better than a 2F/3F IMO.

The sluggish start yesterday had me a bit concerned so I removed the cross pipes to have a look at the heating element. I'm glad I did. Unfortunately I did not think to take photos of it before the cleaning but, cest la vie. The element was literally covered in carbon and oil. It was bad enough in some areas that the carbon was actually bridging many of the bands. My first thought is bad oil seals in the turbo but I am going to have to dig deeper.

While I had the element off I went ahead and extended the wiring for the second screen so that they can both be run off of one 12V lead.

every time i see an update on this build, my mind kept running a scene from a movie, but I couldn't remember what it was... until just now, Romancing the Stone, the drug lord's car was his "mule"...
Joan Wilder: Can we get there in your car?
Juan: Who told you I had a car?
Joan Wilder: The men in the village.
Juan: They told you I had a car? They are such comedians. They meant my little mule: Pepe.

In other news... where does the valve cover vent to? If it's into the intake or air filter, you should run a catch can or just vent to atmosphere. My 1HDFT intake was so coated in goop, it was clogged by 40% at least.

Can you give us more info on the red shifter knob lookin boost controller?

Welcome to Hallman Boost Controllers

That's funny. We'll have to ask Chad what inspired the name. I used an oil/ air separator from an old Cessna on the turbo 2h and it did it's job very well. I went so far as at to tie the drain in with the return line of the turbo and got a substantial reduction of oil at the intake. There are some nice ones here particularly this one (cheap and nice).

I drove her back from the exhaust shop today and she flat out hauls A#@. I set the max boost to 11 lbs. for now and Chad can play with the knob from here. A few photos of the 3" exhaust, the gauge pods and tuffy console, and finally the old beast sitting pretty. This one is just about wrapped up. I still have the ARB bumper and winch, and the diesel AC amplifier to install.
