The only hard part is spotting because driver and passenger is opposite 🤦🏻‍♂️

So I have cooked 8 plug wire boots 🤦🏻‍♂️. I noticed a miss yesterday. So I pulled a plug wire and it was Burt through. Ended up being 4 😳. I went and bought some of the spark plug wire sock things put 4 new boots on ran great for about 2 miles and same thing 🤔. I called Sanderson. And they were very nice . They said they will fix my headers. Just send them in . I told them I will
Next week but I am in Moab 🙄. So I went and bought a new set of wires and took those socks off. We will see if these last more than 2 miles 🙄. They are not touching . Apparently on the Sanderson site there is a box for what type of heads you have 🤔. I bought them through Summit and there is nothing like that . Live and learn . I just need to make it last a few more days . Not really sure why those boots made it worse 🤔. If I cook a set tomorrow I am pulling the headers and smashing them to make room. I don’t want to do that 😖. So if anyone is thinking of getting Sanderson headers. Get them directly from Sanderson. And let them know what heads you are using they will make the proper indentations

Have you tried ceramic wires? I used to burn #8 on my old Vortec with the AA block hugger headers. Bought a set of ceramic high temp (expensive) and never had another problem. And the ceramic boots were actually touching the headers a bit. I’m not a big fan of denting nice headers to clear plug wires. They may have been made by Accel, can’t exactly remember

I have Taylor wires. I do think accel has a set of ceramic. Unfortunately I can’t get them by tomorrow. On mine 3,4,5,6 are the problem.

Ok, might be a long term solution 🤷‍♂️

Any chance that the boots off the spark plugs are straight instead of 90°?

If so, you “might” be able to use a factory LS spark plug heat shield. They are just a hollow tube of thin metal and will be in junkyards everywhere.

No they are 90. Apparently Sanderson headers knows about this . They make the header a little different for my heads since they have raised ports . Unfortunately I didn’t know about this . And even on the Summit web page says works with straight or angled plugs . We will see how today goes. Kinda a bummer but not really it’s fixable. And will be great . I love the Atlas. The engine is awesome.
