So 🤦🏻‍♂️. This past weekend I finally drove it around the block . My first impression is it much better than my old engine but not what I had expected 🤔. I also noticed a tick and that had me concerned. I called them and explained every step I took as far as installing and pre prime ect. Timing bla bla bla. But was concerned about this tick that I heard when it was warmed up . I told them I was as going to pull the valve covers just to make sure everything looked good . Well I ordered a new set of valve covers gaskets. ( didn’t need them but just wanted to be on the safe side ). And when I pulled the cover 😳🙄🤬. I found the tick . I think I cried . I pulled the push rod and it was good so I put everything back together and now it runs so smooth . They are definitely getting a call in the morning. But I think we dodged a lighting bolt while standing in water on a metal plate 😳.

Just been chipping away at a lot of loose ends . I found some brake line brackets that Sky makes. 👍. My lines have just been hanging 👎. I Cerakoted the brackets and bolted them up

Then I actually spent a little time learning how to set up
My Dakota digital gauges. I have a couple extra add ons to this system . 1 ties it into my Sniper system. The other is the GPS Speedo . I also got the optional antenna. Not sure where I am going to put that yet . I made a plate that fits in the glove box. Then I used Velcro to mount the boxes to it incase I need to get them out for any reason . I also got my rock lights mounted . I have been doing laps around the neighborhood and everything is working well . Basically I have 2 more weekends then it’s time to get it packed up. For Moab . 1 thing I am going to add this week is a vacuum canister. With this cam I noticed my brakes are not as good at ideal. . It’s just little things. .

I have been chasing a slight oil leak 🤬. I changed valve cover gaskets . But that did not fix it so I pulled the covers and put the covers that came with the engine and that seamed to fix it 👎. I am not going to give up that easy . Now I know where it’s coming from . Then took it for a ride . Went down to the loading dock to check to make sure nothing rubs . I was unable to get my Speedo to work 🤬👎. And in the process now my clock time is off and as much as I tried I can not figure out how to change the time 🤷‍♂️. I will call Dakota tomorrow. . This thing rips though . 😳. I got on it a little 🤩.

Well :bang:. ya. So i have told myself just do a little every night then do the big stuff on the weekends so tonite i got home , ate dinner and thought I will put my winch back on :cool:. Walked out in the garage and there was a huge puddle of trans fluid under the pig :oops:. Unbelievable . So i started cleaning and looking and i found the issue :hmm:. There is a kickdown cable on a th350. well i have never had one and i did not even think about it . They had the hole plugged with silicone To be honest i did not even look at it and if i did i didnt not think anything about it . Well on that silicon did not last . They make a block off plate for it and i ordered one tonite I just have to see if i have to drop the pan UGGG that will make me less than happy . I swear I have taken my time checked everything. Not skimped on anything and Everything has been complete pain in the ass . Brand new Engine I have to fix . Brand New trans I have to fix Brand new Headers i have to tweak. Just getting tired of this thing . On a positive i didget my winch back on and working and my lights hooked up .

Maybe its just the recommended fluid change after start up, trans was helping out by dumping crap fluid.
Those 2 chips on the bezel tho ????????

I am looking for a Land Cruiser Bezel. . Ya I think that was just. Start up flush fluid 😃

A few parts showed up so I figured let’s fix this thing since my garage looks like the Exxon Valdez crashed 🙄. I call
Ed TCI and confirmed that it will not harm anything by not using the kickdown cable 👍. My hopes were that I could somehow grab the wire and pull it up then cut it off and it would then fall back in low enough to put the plug in 🤩 . Unfortunately that was not the case 🙄. So I figured the fairy fj mother was not going to come do what needed to be done 🤷‍♂️. So I pulled everything apart Then dropped the trans pan and removed the wire . ( this was the proper way to fix it but definitely not the most fun . I was able to get the plug in and everything back together . I believe we can check that off the list now 🙏🤩

Also got the vacuum canister and it should fit perfect 🤩. . My brakes work fine but at idle I can feel they are a little stiffer. . My concern is when I am dropping down something I want all the brake I can get so this is just an added precaution. Plus I ride my brake a lot when I am wheeling

Oil pressure Check. Fuel gauge Check. Volts Check. Water temp Check . Tach check. Clock Check . Just have to figure out the speedo :hmm: . I will get everything wrapped up this weekend then its off to Moab the following week :steer:. Hopefully i can get a few miles on it this weekend . then do a nut and bolt check . Like always it comes down to the day before i go . Ugg

It’s been a busy week 🤦🏻‍♂️. I have been chasing an oil leak that was really difficult to find . It was not a bad leak but I don’t want any leaks . The problem was it was coming from the rear area of the engine . And only when I would drive it. And then it would just make the transmission wet . I changed the valve cover gaskets nope not that . I pulled the distributor and made sure somehow I did not forget the gasket . Nope not that . I pulled the oil sender and redid that . I think It may have been leaking a little. Maybe 🤷‍♂️. But nope still after a drive I would get a some oil 👎. So Monday night I decided I was not going to have any drips and pulled everything apart 🤦🏻‍♂️. I was able to fix the leak 🤩🤗. . Now that that was fixed I set my sights on getting the speedo to work 🙄. 4 days of calling Dakota . And almost giving up on it. I finally got
A tech that told me what I needed to do 😎. So on mine I had to go find a mile marker and do a calibration. Once I did this my speedo started working 😳. It is dead on accurate 😃. Now everything works Even my odometer . Of coarse it came down to the night before my Season kicks off as I am heading to Moab tonite after work 💪. I have some things I am going to change but that stuff can wait . I want to make a custom center council. I don’t mind the tuffy but I want a custom interior now . But for now I am just really happy that everything works. It has way more than enough power 🫣 the Atlas is cool. And we are going to have a great wheeling season. I have a lot of trail time planned .
