What other cruiserheads are going to the Clemson /Citadel game tomorrow?

Travis I was there with Chuck and JP. We were over a Thurmond.

Clemson didn't look like a top 20 team yesterday. At least in the first half. They struggled on defense. Had the Citadel not thrown so many interceptions at all the wrong times it would have been a much closer game.

Highlight of the day was watching a Clemson fan run over the big metal sculpture behind Thurmond no more than 15 ft away from us. It was a sculpture of a paper airplane. I guess he didn't see it. All 4 wheels were off the ground on his big expedition. Poked a hole in his tranny. Scraped the hell out of the sculpture.

Well David looks like were just a couple days from the results of our little wager, getting nervous yet? Or do you have better things to think about, like which of your two QB's is gonna throw more INT's this weekend.

Naw...I was wondering how many more players/recruits will quit on Clemson this week. :grinpimp:
I bet I could here the cheer in Ptown this Saturday if CU gets past the 34 point margin.
Go Wolfs. ;)
Prediction: CU 24,NCS 10 .....you owe me $20. :hillbilly:
UGA hangs a 50+ on USC....just for old times sake.
Heels squeek out another W.
LOWF rolls.
Bama in a too close for comfort win over MSU.

I probably will end up owing you a couple bucks, we lost another O lineman for this game so we will actually start 3 freshmen on the line. Course once we are up 20 in the third or start of the fourth quarter they will probably put in some backups which will end up costing me. I seem to remember you guys playing your starters the whole time. :flipoff2:

Doubt UGA puts 50+ on you probably more like 35 I sure hope Moreno jumps over someone on your team like he did to that guy last weekend.

UNC who cares its not basketball season.

Wake is gonna tell us exactly how good FSU is this weekend should be an interesting one.

UNC has a hell of a defense. Their defensive line averages 304 lbs. They flat out dominated Rutgers last night. Fans started leaving at half time. By the end of the game there was no one in the stands. Empty! I saw a lot of Boo's. The classic moment of the game came in the first half when the camera panned into the crowd of Rutgers fans. One girl was jumping up and down seeing herself on tv while her boyfriend shot the camera a bird. I'm sure he will catch hell for that one. They quickly went to another camera. lol

VT next week will be the deciding factor on how we will play this year. With most of the team consisting of Sophomores I'm really looking forward to the next three years.

First two headlines on SI this morning

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -Butch Davis has North Carolina back on the road to respectability.

T.J. Yates threw three touchdown passes and the Tar Heels won for the first time outside North Carolina since 2002, beating error-prone Rutgers 44-12 in a nationally televised game that pitted Davis against his former pupil, Greg Schiano.

Yates found a wide-open Hakeem Nicks on touchdown passes of 9 and 11 yards and connected on a 69-yard scoring play with speedster Brandon Tate , who also scored on a 12-yard end around.

''You're going to see a whole lot that's changed,'' said Tate, who caught four passes for a career-best 138 yards. ''We could go anywhere and win any game now, so everybody just has to stay focused, stay humble after the win. This win was big, nobody can take us as a joke anymore because we're gonna come in and play hard.''

The Tar Heels intercepted four passes, including three by starter Mike Teel . Linebacker Bruce Carter returned a bobbled pass 66 yards for a touchdown as the Tar Heels (2-0) handed Rutgers (0-2) its worst loss since a 56-5 loss to Louisville on Nov. 11, 2005. Freshman Jay Wooten added field goals of 43, 29 and 27 yards.

The victory was the Tar Heels ' biggest since a 52-17 win over Duke in 2001.

The start is the best since 2000 for North Carolina, which is looking for its first winning season since 2001. The Tar Heels were 4-8 a year ago in Davis' first season.

''For us, it's nice to win this game,'' Davis said. ''But for us it's 12 one-week seasons. We got an unbelievable monumental task next week against Virginia Tech. I think what it does, what you hope all victories do, is validate the sacrifices you are asking your players to make because we are asking them to do an awful lot to try to become good.''

Immediately after the final gun, the team walked over to their supporters in the crowd and thanked them.

''This is a great feeling,'' senior linebacker Mark Paschal said. ''Being here so long and never winning out the state of North Carolina to have an opportunity to come in here and get a win is great. It's great for me. It's great for the team and great for all the guys who have been here.''

The start is worst for the Scarlet Knights since 2002, when they finished 1-11 in Schiano's second season. It also was the worst home loss since being thrashed 40-0 by West Virginia that same year.

''You don't want to be naive,'' Schiano said. ''I do believe like I said, don't count this team out. We've had two bad games but I believe we will turn it around.''

In many ways, the Scarlet Knights looked like the Rutgers of old. They blew pass coverages on all three of Yates' TD passes, had a bad punt lead to a North Carolina score and saw their senior quarterback turn the ball over three times.

By the time the third quarter was over, North Carolina had a 38-6 lead and only a couple of thousand fans from the sellout crowd of 42,502 were on hand for a derisive cheer when Teel threw a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Kevin Brock .

San San Te kicked field goals of 34 and 32 yards for Rutgers, which came into the season looking for a fourth straight bowl trip. After losing two at home, the Scarlet Knights need to turn things around quickly.

Davis, who hired Schiano as his defensive coordinator at Miami, saw his team improve markedly after struggling in the season opener against McNeese State.

Yates finished 14-of-22 for 221 yards and matched his career high with the three TD passes. Tate caught four passes for a career-best 138 yards. His 69-yard touchdown catch was the longest of his career. Nicks added six catches for 63 yards with the two TDs, tying his single-game high.

North Carolina took control of the game with 38 points in the second and third quarters.

The Tar Heels scored on three straight possessions in the second to take a 17-6 halftime lead.

An interception by cornerback Charles Brown , set up Wooton's longer field goal that tied it at 3.

A 25-yard punt by Teddy Delleganne gave North Carolina the ball at its own 49 on the next series. Five plays later, Yates found a wide-open Nicks in the corner of the end zone for a 10-3 lead.

A 12-yard run by backup quarterback Jabu Lovelace and passes of 16, 11 and 10 yards by Teel led to Te's 32-yard field goal that got Rutgers to 10-6.

On the ensuing play from scrimmage, Tate ran by cornerback Jason McCourty and Yates lofted a pass down the right sideline for the 69-yard catch and run.

North Carolina blew the game open in the third quarter as Tate scored on the end around, Carter tallied on the interception and Nicks had his second TD catch.

Reports: South Carolina players involved in fight
The coach was told of an incident at the Russell House around lunchtime Thursday
Fink did not have details of what occurred or who was involved
There were no injuries, no property damage and no charges

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Five South Carolina players were involved in a lunchtime fight on campus Thursday.

A report from the university's police department listed the five players -- linebacker Antonio Allen, safety Akeem Auguste, offensive linemen Terrence Campbell, linebacker Melvin Ingram and receiver C.C. Whitlock -- as victims of a civil disturbance at the Russell House in the middle of campus.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier didn't know much about what happened. "I wasn't there," he said after practice. "But I'm sure our university police can handle it."

"I've just heard second-hand reports that there was a little fracas, a little tussle between some people we don't know and some of our football players," Spurrier said. "None of our guys were hurt."

Spurrier said he'd let the police and the university determine what happened and if penalties were necessary.

Defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson did not know details either. But "the only thing I think I know about it is that we are victims," Johnson said.

The Gamecocks host No. 2 Georgia on Saturday.

South Carolina's players were not available to the media following practice.

Campbell and Ingram are sophomores. Allen, Auguste and Whitlock are freshmen.

Campbell is listed on South Carolina's depth chart as a backup right guard. Auguste is a third-string cornerback. Whitlock is also a third-teammer, although Spurrier has talked continually about finding playing time for the highly regarded Whitlock.

University spokesman Russ McKinney said there were no injuries, no property damage and no immediate charges.

The police department's report said it was continuing the investigation.

McKinney said it was possible that non-South Carolina students were involved. The report said the suspects were unknown.

Nice victory for the Heels. It was an awful Rutgers team. They have been pitiful
in their 2 outings so far. Still it was nice to break that 20 game losing streak away
from NC. ;)
Note the USC players were the victims. :grinpimp:
I suspect they'll be more USC player victims after Saturday afternoon.

From what I can tell there were a few teams in the past week that had trouble getting going. A win is still a win in my book.

And it looks like this week also....an ugly 3 to 2 win by Auburn! yep that is three points to two.

3-2 did they score the winning run in the bottom of the 9th? Glad I didn't watch that game.

David pm your addy and I'll mail you a check. Clemson played pretty well on D only gave up 3 points, still didn't have a good pass rush DaQuan was double teamed all game they need Sapp and Jackson back so that 1 guy doesn't draw all the attention.
Offense I don't even know, Oline was avg at best, Spiller looks like he should be in the NFL running all over and Davis looks like he should be in HS. The rest of the time it looks like they are to busy trying to decide which player to give the ball to instead of just playing.

Just save the $. I'll put it on account till the next time. How about we make it a buck a point
for the USC vs CU point difference? I'd like to give you a sure way of getting your $ back. :grinpimp:

I don't know if thats a very sure thing, you guys can't score so it sounds good but then you remember our Oline couldn't block a 9yo girl and your D is pretty solid so you realize we won't score either so then its not a good bet any more.

OK, we'll find a game that's a sure thing before the season is over. ;)

OK, so goading Richard into an epic fury didn't liven up this way-to-quiet thread so all hope may be lost... :D

Big weekend of pigskin coming up. Pick'em time.

Who wins, who loses?????

Hokies at Heels - Can Butch and co. follow up a high scoring W over Rutgers and put a beat down on Beamer ball?? Hokies 20-17

Terriers at Cocks - How many times will the visor thrower throw his visor against mighty Wofford?? Cocks 23-13

Gators at Vols - Big game, will be closer than critics expect. Can the Vols great secondary keep the next coming from passing for 200+ yards in Neyland?? Gators 30-6

Deacs at Criminoles - Will Paula Deen and co. avenge the 30-0 beat down they got from the Deacs 2 years ago in Tallahassee? Deacs 12-3

Bulldogs at Sun Devils - Will UGA bring back a W from out west against a dangerous ASU team?? Sorry Steen, this is my upset pick of the weekend. Bulldgos 27-10

Tigers at Tigers - GameDay Location. Should be a great game, can Auburn's stingy D contain the explosive LSU offense?? Tigers(LSU) 26-21

Bulldogs at Tigers - How many rushing TDs will Wind and Rain score against the all powerful SC State?? Tigers 54-0

Pirates at Wolfpack - Will Skip Holtz continue his dream season or will TOB finally get some results from his underwhelming NCSU squad?? Pack 30-24

Bears at Huskies - Will true freshman Robert Griffin continue his impressive play and lead Baylor to the W or will UCONN roll to 4-0?? Huskies 31-18

Sorry Andy I can't watch YouTube at work, damn site is blocked same for ebay and a bunch of other fun stuff I would do at work. I will play the pick'em though while I kill some more of the day.

Heels over the Jokies by 3 maybe 7, I picked this in the cnn fantasy game as well.

Cocks in a closer game then anticipated probably win by 13 or 17.

Gators by about 10 UT is their same old overrated self, and its about time they get rid of Fudge Packer, I mean Fulmer. (that kinda sounds like what Nate says about Clemson)

Deacs and Noles I am not sure probably Wake by 3, I picked Wake in the Fantasy game but this one I think is gonna be really close and could go either way. Noles are still faster stronger and more athletic Wake is still smarter and less likely to have someone arrested the day before the game.

I'm picking the Dawgs to pull another tight one out, just give it to Moreno like 30 times and stop screwing around. Dawgs by 3-6 pts

I'm picking Auburn cause their D is better and neither of them has much offense, Probably another horrible game to watch 10-6 Auby.

Clemson by 20-50 depends if they decide to show up on the O line and if the D decides to hit somebody, both happen Clemson by a ton neither happens Clemson way to close, 1 or the other happens and it will look respectable. Thunder and Lighting score 3-4 times total. Jamie Harper adds another late plus a couple passing.

Pirates roll the Pack by 20+ kinda like the USC v Pack game.

Uconn v Baylor who cares.

You're killing me. That would be quite an upset. Course we didn't look great last week but I think it probably scared the crap out of them... they'll be ready. We don't have a history of winning big... just win baby!

We have defense, and unbelievable potential on offense. That O-Line is the achilles heal, which we knew going in... they'll get better as the season goes on. Close game but we pull it out.

UGA by 6

LSU by 7 (Might be 7-0 or 9-2?)

Fla by 10

Deacs by 3

I'm with Chuck except I'm calling LSU and Wofford.
The USC player alums at work have totally given up on Spurrier. All they'll talk about now is Dollass haw haw.

Someone had to be #2 I guess.

Big 12 might not be as deep but both ACC and Big 12 are playing in some shallow water. At least the Big 12 has some teams that could and probably will compete for the NC. No team in the ACC is at that level right now. GT is surprising me some though.
