S.E.C., S.E.C., S.E.C.
Maybe some don't get it but the teams that play in the S.E.C. do get it.
We love how it gets under the skin of other conferences.
It is the big time of college football.
Rabid fans, incredible sold out stadiums...real southern fried football.
I'll make this bold prediction: Gamecocks win the S.E.C. in the next two years.
Year in and year out winning THIS conference almost guarantees a shot
at the national title.
Conference pride is natural.....plus it really irks the little boys of football.
:grinpimp:

Thanks for the history lessons and the put downs of the other non-A.C.C. academic schools.
Blame it on admission standards or my favorite...it doesn't mean anything to
beat the snot out of your rivals.
Pathetic.

60-40-4.....CU owns USC....ROFLMAO

S.E.C., S.E.C., S.E.C.....

So let me get this straight, if UGA beats LSU on Saturday, are the LSU fans going to stand up and cheer them on with a chant "S.E.C., S.E.C, S.E.C."?

I don't buy the whole academic standards excuse. Stanford is doing pretty well among others that focus highly on academics. I think that you can have both, but the administration has to make a clear decision to pursure both. I would argue that available majors have more to do than "academic standards". But then again, you would argue that Stanford would only win 4 conference games in the SEC with all that speed they would have to match up against.

Again, if USC won the SEC CG last year and UGA wins this year, then winning the conference guarantees nothing on the national level.

If SEC is so big time, then why do they not have twice as many players in the NFL as the next conference?

the previous clemson/s.car record means nothing anymore

like what has been said before..it's not even a game that needs to be hyped up anymore

Our biggest games of the season are the 2nd week of college football when we play Georgia and the final SEC game of our season when we play Florida.

Keep those two teams on the losing end of the score board season after season and the SEC east is always in reach!

the SEC doesn't have twice as many NFL recruits as any other conference but IIRC they do have more than any other conference

they also have more national championships than any other conference.

Hell Bama alone has more than most other conferences.

The reason all SEC schools love to see SEC championship teams is because it brings $$$ to the conference.

The more $$$ in the conference the better our conference will continue to get!

It's certainly going to be interesting how these next few years play out in college sports due to all the scandals and violations coming out. It might be a whole new ball game.

DUH...LSU vs UGA is S.E.C. vs S.E.C.
The chant is for whupping up on non-conference foes.
Never heard the chant otherwise.
Never heard it at a conference game.
You can bet your bottom dollar you'll hear it bowl games.
I'd guess, but I'm no history or stat major(we all know I'm senile) but
I'd make a WAG that SEC has the most players in the NFL.
Look, the SEC is big time football. To argue otherwise is nonsensical.
Proof is in the pudding.

I 100% agree about the money thing...and that is why the scandals and violations are going on. It is too big of a business. This certainly does help the schools with larger students/alumni base. Miami is a good example of a prominant program that just can't seem to get it right consistently. I think that they have been left behind in this "new" (last 10 years or so) college football since they don't have the size/resources to keep competing with the larger state schools. It is all about the money. Fact of the matter is that smaller schools will struggle to become upper echelon and it will be even harder to stay there if they get there.

Your conference may get better, but so far only four teams in the entire conference have actually held that crystal ball this century. If we get to the point where there are 8 teams or so over a 20 year period that win a NC (especially if 3-4 have multiple), then that will be impressive...for those 8 teams.

SEC does have more NFL players but it is only about 15-30 more than the next conference (which I think was the ACC in 2009 or 2010). I have no idea what 2011 is like.

Never argued that the SEC does have SOME great teams...just tired of the fans of teams who have not won anything playing the conference card. Are you going to tell me that UK, Miss State, Vandy, Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss were big time football this year? They are part of the conference. If UGA beats LSU, then does Boise get to claim that it could have won the conference? I bet Boise could have beaten any of the teams that UGA did in the SEC (maybe even S.Car. too). Same could be said for Oregon, the real USC, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, etc. Time for a playoff system. SEC fans should agree since the SEC CG really isn't a playoff.

And yes, it is common knowledge that the SEC has the most NFL players....not by much though.

It is exactly 30 as of August 2011

Number of Players from Each BCS Conference, Average Number of NFL Players per team
SEC-308, 25.6
ACC- 278, 23.1
Big 10-256, 23.2
Big 12-221, 18.4
Pac-10-215, 21.5
Big East-115, 14.3

Hey, look on the bright side...in our last six games other teams scored an average of 35.5 points against us. So, technically, USuC is still below average when playing Klempsun.:p

Now THAT was funny I don't care who you pull for.

My friend, ALL those teams you belittle as down THIS year have had some recent success
most schools would die to have!

Those fans HAVE won something. It sure was fun beating defending national champ Bama
and stopping the #1 ranked team on a 19 game win streak last year.
Didn't win the SEC last year or this year and may NEVER win it. Ya crazy if you can't see how the stiff competition has strengthened the WHOLE league.
We all get it. We hate each other.....some worse than in state foes even....but it is a kind of fraternity
and like them to win versus outsiders.
Heck this year we beat the everliving snot out of an ACC East Champion.
Requiring a team to win the SEC to have any reason to have pride in the league means, for all intents and purposes, that must be a national champion EVERY year to clear your bar.
SEC teams can't do that and I'm damn sure little skippy's teams couldn't do it.
The state championships are behind them all. Let's see how the bowls play out.
Guess the inferior, lower rung, SEC teams will have to settle for playing other league's Champions.
Cover yer ears fellas....it's gonna be shouted a LOT this bowl season.
SEC...SEC...
Bold prediction: SEC brings home yet another National Championship.
;)

being that the SEC is the only conference strong enough to put 2 teams in the national championship game is enough to make all other conferences jealous!

I don't pull for other sec opponets unless they are playing out of conference games or bowl games

Maybe you ACC guys just don't understand?

The better Georgia, florida, bama and lsu look the better we look when we beat them!!!

i'm hoping for the highest ever bowl bid for S.Car!!!

with Shaw taking the snaps and our drunkard sent on his way i'm looking forward to a bowl game that a S.Carolina team shows up for well prepared!

11-2!!!!

I think it would be good for the cocks to go to the ACC. That being said they would never go. They don't want to compete in a conference that leans more basketball. As well I don't think the ACC would let them in due to academics though I think USC is just as good of a school as any other. It would certainly be great for the fans though.

Uh, you do realize we left the ACC not that long ago, right?

You got kicked out of the ACC.
Yeah baby...it's the last year in the ACC.....I remember it well....
WON the ACC. Weren't too shabby on the hardcourt or diamond either.
Ditched that sorry arse NC centric ref cheating bush league.
Taters promised to go along.
Left us stranded at the elopement, as it were.
They made that bed. They gonna die in that bed if USC has any say.
It ain't easy winning in the big league but baby when ya do...ya done something.
Po ol Lame/shame/criminal/drunk/fat/obnoxious/rude and ignorant USC fan
base is having fun.
When are the Tarheels gonna come on down to the Cockpit like they promised?
Be scared...be very scared.....
This is what awaits you.
;)
Because I Dominate You | Cemetery Hill

Ya can't make this stuff up. It cracks me up.
Namecalling takes a new level.
It'll be REAL chippy late Nov in Death Valley 2012.
A sign of the Apocollapse? (copyrighted) Ya know 12/22/2012 is a coming.
