Good game Cocks, definitely played it better than Clemson did.

Good luck in the SECCG this coming weekend.

lol.. It's interesting to see all the **** talking from the other side now.

with the struggles S.Car has had moving the ball this season i waited until after the game to s*** talk.

and it feels good!!!

I am sore about us not getting to the SEC CG....we beat all of our SEC east opponets but just wasn't enough.

if you go 10-2 and don't get to go to your conference CS game that says something about the stregenth of your conference.

an 11-1 bama is going to the NC game.

Coulda woulda shoulda beat Auburn.....but a dominating win against a cocky Clemson fan base is enough to call it a good year!

We'll try not to embarrass the SEC East this weekend. Unless we blow out LSU (so highly unlikely it's hardly worth mentioning), looks to be a rematch for the NC in January with yet another SEC winner... this time that won't be in doubt long before the game is played.

even if Georgia beats lsu by 14 points it will still be a rematch of LSU and Bama

an 12-1 LSU and a 11-1 Bama are still going to be ranked higher than any other teams in the nation.

Hey, the BETTER team won. Domination 3 years in a row
ain't luck and the sooner CU wakes up and smells the coffee
the faster they can get this thing righted.
CU needs a defense. Currently it is swiss cheese.
Defense isn't as sexy as a high powered offense but
we all know D wins championships.
All the talk about how crappy the S.E.C. East teams were
gave the fan base a false sense of security. "We can out score anybody"
was a statement I heard a lot.
Not so fast my friends.
Kudos to Marshall and Richard for having the gonads to bet on the Tigers.
The rest of the :princess: just talk a good game.......like their team.

watched the replay of the game....what a BS call on the interference call S.Car had when clemson dropped the punt.

the clemson reciever was run into by his own player and there is no way the S.Carolina defender pushed him as he not only had his hands down but was backing up/to the side at the same time trying to give him room...the clemson player shoved his way inbetween the S.Car player and his teammate which caused him to lose the ball.

and how many face mask penalties did Clemson get away with?

Are you serious? Last time I checked Carolina won the f#*@ing game! What are you complaining about, the fact that should have been a shutout?:flipoff2:

yes, score should have been even more one sided

This SEC/ACC conference stuff is nauseating. The conferences are much different in so many ways. I find it troubling that so many people live vicariously through their conference allegiences. I am a GT grad and trust me, the ACC people have been just as bad at doing it over basketball as the SEC crowd does it over football. My three least favorite teams are UGA (of course...little man syndrome here), VT and FSU. I would never boast about FSU or VT winning our "conference" a NC. I would actually prefer that those schools all lose every game they play. I think that the upper echelon schools in the SEC, ACC, PAC#, Big #'s, etc care about winning National Championships and that is about it. Do you think that Alabama or LSU even remotely care that the SEC Championship game means nothing? I don't. I think they are both concerned over one more win...and it isn't this Saturday.

GT should focus on winning conference championships (and very much enjoy it when we do). Winning one still would not give us any authority to beat our chests over any other school that we did not physically beat that season...especially becasue of that other schools conference affiliations . There are very few schools each year that even have a remote chance of winning a NC. I don't see UGA, S.Car., Clemson, GT, UF, FSU, Miami, UT, UK, Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy, Wake, Duke, UVA, NC State, BC, PSU, OSU, Auburn, Purdue, ARK, etc. even having a decent chance in 2012for a National Championship. Oh my, did I mention mighty SEC schools in that list?

actally with the rankings UGA and S.Car will finish out with this season with they will both be in the running for the NC coming into next season.

We have all seen that an 11-1 SEC team can/will go to the national championship game.

Both will be ranked high at the start of next season....and both will determine their own fate.

S.Car is a team that could have went to the national championship this season if we could have kept our record clean.

Even an 1 loss S.Car team would have been in the mix and and jumped bama with a win over LSU

So before you go saying a team doesn't have a chance look at the stregenth of conference, the ranknigs they are finishing the season with and where they will be ranked to start next season. S.Carolina could possibly start the season as a top 10 team. top 15 at the very least. Either way, they will start next season with a good chance at a run for the championship game.

Everyone knows the SEC CG game is just the playoffs for the NC game. That's something that has no one in the ACC has been able to say in a LONG time!

Arkansas will also finish with a ranking high enough to run at the Cg next season.

Lol! GT would be in the NC game if we would have kept our schedule clean...see how it works...even the mediocre can say that. GT would have beaten 2 top ten teams and a #12 UGA in that scenario and if we were undefeated, would have had a very good chance of getting into the game. But we didn't. Neither did S.Car, UGA, Clemson, VT, etc. UGA started the season at #1 a few years ago...what happened...oh, they didn't keep thier schedule clean. There will be about 25 teams in August of next year that can make the title game if they keep their schedules clean. Only a few of those will realistically be able to keep their schedule clean. Only two will make it, and only one will win. I don't think that it will be any of the schools in my list. I also don't have a crystal ball. I guess we will have to watch and enjoy. I can promise you one thing, if VT, MIAMI, or FSU are in the title game, I will want them all to lose!

SEC CG does not even matter for NC this year UNLESS UGA blows LSU out and prevents them from getting into the BCS game. It would have to be a big blow out. A even then UGA would not get into the game...how is that a playoff? Oh, and if S.Car would have won last year, you would not have gone into the BCS title game. Again, how is that a playoff? Speaking of a LONG time, the last time S.Car was in the hunt for the title game...now that was a LONG time. Maybe S.Car should be in the ACC.

Amen brother!

I think it would be good for the cocks to go to the ACC. That being said they would never go. They don't want to compete in a conference that leans more basketball. As well I don't think the ACC would let them in due to academics though I think USC is just as good of a school as any other. It would certainly be great for the fans though.

if south carolina can get their offensive production going they will have as much of a chance as anyone in the SEC including Bama and LSU at going to the NC game.

With the majority of that top 5 defense coming back it will be a great way to kick of next season.

Clowney was great this year, next year he will be a man among boys.

Losing Ingram will hurt but having a healthy lattimore and with the show Wilds has put on it looks to be promising.

I'm glad that the play calling has finally been adjusted to that of the playing ability of Shaw. While i still think we need a pocket passer to go along with Spurriers dialed up plays i think with an offseason with a Shaw run option/mobile QB could bring back some of the old days of SEC grind it out, low scoring slug fests. We definatly have defense to make that happen. About all we lack are some bigger line backers, our defensive ends are about the size of the line backers we need to make us stronger against the run.

I don't think i'm crazy at all to think S.Car has a good chance at running the table next season.

We haven't lost to Ga, florida or TN in 2 years. This year we beat every SEC east opponet.

Clemson if finally, in the eyes of the S.Car football team, an easy non conference win.

The goals of S.Carolina are no longer to "beat clemson"

the goals of s.carolina are to win championships.

All games but 2 this season were played on national television

we are consistantly ranked in the top 25

our recruiting classes are finally making the national spot light.

The tides have changed in south carolina and last years SEC east title and our win over the #1 ranked Bama was no mistake.

South Carolina is finally playing real SEC football

and it's about damn time.

Tenn, Florida and UGA no longer have S.Carolina as a doormat team. We've proven we can win those games not only at home but in the swamp and between the hedges....and rocky top is nothing more than field much like vandy's if you have the lead on them at half time. It may pack out 100k but those fairweather fans leave quickly when the Gamecocks come to town!!

South Carolina is a team that is only one or two recruits away from school football history.

Say what you want about the HBC being washed up but never in south carolina history have we had so much success against SEC opponets. And it's just the beginning.

That is MUCH better!!! More talk about your team and less about the conference it plays in. Don't forget that your team will be a lot different next year than it is this year. Who knows how many injuries and to which players. Also, don't forget that everyone on your schedule will have a different team next year as well. Who how conference alignment will shake out. You may get to play Alabama and Georgia and Arkansas and LSU next year. I wouldn't take Clemson for granted yet (wait until you beat the 10 out of 11 years - well to be fair UGA (steenh), we are actually 4-14 in the last 18 against you). Even though UGA is 10-1 against GT in the last 11 years, 5 of those wins were by 8 points or less (one possession). Still maybe not a doormat, just a virtual guaranteed win that they still have to work hard for.

If the goals at S.Car. are to win championships then you shouldn't be too excited about your 10-2 record this year (or at least as excited as you seem to be on the board). It was a great year...unless your goal is to win championships...to which you didn't get any. Needless to say, I wish GT was 10-2 this year. I would have been thrilled, but then again my goals are different.

ACC Championships and 9+ wins are the goals that I have for GT. I actually like that Spurrier came in and took the "Beat Clemson" mindset away. I wish we would do that with UGA...but then again we have little mans syndrome that we have to live with each day in GA. It will never happen. As long as academics remain highly ranked, I will settle the football program that we have. The huge TV contracts and other business developments in college football over the past 20 years have just left us too far behind to have those magical NC years anytime soon.

My conference issues are not pointed solely at you. Being in Atlanta, I am just tired of hearing UGA, S.Car, Miss St. Ole Miss, UK, Ark, UT, Vandy (well, ok not Vandy) fans taking all this credit for what Florida, Auburn, Alabama, and LSU have done in the past NC picture. The only thing the rest of the conference has done is let these teams beat them in route to national championships. I like the team vs. team debates and commentary. The conference stuff just gets old.

S.E.C., S.E.C., S.E.C.
Maybe some don't get it but the teams that play in the S.E.C. do get it.
We love how it gets under the skin of other conferences.
It is the big time of college football.
Rabid fans, incredible sold out stadiums...real southern fried football.
I'll make this bold prediction: Gamecocks win the S.E.C. in the next two years.
Year in and year out winning THIS conference almost guarantees a shot
at the national title.
Conference pride is natural.....plus it really irks the little boys of football.
:grinpimp:

Thanks for the history lessons and the put downs of the other non-A.C.C. academic schools.
Blame it on admission standards or my favorite...it doesn't mean anything to
beat the snot out of your rivals.
Pathetic.

60-40-4.....CU owns USC....ROFLMAO

S.E.C., S.E.C., S.E.C.....
