leftys will rarely throw 95 plus...but some do and they are not playing college ball...or not for long.....jake is a control pitcher....owns the inside of the plate...d-1 college level... lefty....80 to 85 considered good speed...80 to 85 with jakes control and movement considered a real prize....he is also a young junior...just 16 years old...so he has several more years of growing to do before the finished product arrives...his bat speed has also increased by some crazy number this past year....needless to say i no longer throw bp for him in the cage....i buy a pizza for the kid that does....i also no longer catch his bull pens...these old eyes just cant seem to find that ball....and it seems to hurt more when i get hit with a pitch...takes longer for the bruising to go away...he is really interested in coastal carolina....they seem like good folks...they are not so full of themselves....like other colleges we have visited with....we are trying to plan a trip over there...just cant seem to find the time....oklahoma state is another program that is showing interest...time will tell...this recruiting thing is crazy.

schedule change

Word is CU and USC will play a game in Greenville at Fluor Field
on a weekend in early April. It's the Greenville Drive's park.
I went there for a USC game before and that place is AWESOME.
Bars/restaurants next door and pass outs available.
Who is up for going?
I can pick up tickets as soon as they are available.

PS: How 'bout them Paladins !

I'm in. Always up for a game. I love that field.

I never made it to a game there David but I did get a chance to walk around when it was empty one day. Definitely looks like an awesome place to see a game. Plus you got an awesome bar right in the building in the outfield.

I was thinking he was more of a control pitcher, at least if his speed stays in that range. I also think of Glavine and Randy Johnson when I think lefty so really the two ends of the spectrum. Coastal is a decent school my folks live about 1/4 mile from campus and my sister went there for 3 yrs. She has since transferred because of issues with the way her program was run CC has sort of outgrown their space and faculty and is trying to catch back up right now.

Matt what is Erskine like D-2, D-3?

Erskine's DII 16 guys pro in the last 6 years. Highest 4 year graduation rate of athletes in SC. Great place to get an education and be part of a strong program.
