medicine...yeppers the boy wants to be an orthopedic dr or physical therapist or something to do with medicine...clemson is one of the hardest baseball programs to get into...i think he would love to play there...but getting that opportunity could be hard...of coarse any recomendation from you SC guys would be appreciated....i am certain they would not have to ask him twice!

Well I'm sure David will tell you USC is much better for Medicine than Clemson and he might be right but I know at least 6 guys I have been here with that all went to med school so we are no slouch.

As for baseball we are in a down yr but Leggett is one of the best coaches in all of america and you can bet it will pick up if not through the rest of this yr then certainly next. We had a huge recruiting class last yr then lost a bunch of them to the draft. :bang:

Uhhh...USC is the state school for Doctors and lawyers. I don't think Clemson
offers those degrees. Great engineering, tech and the ever popular Parks
and Recreation schools are CU's mainstays. :grinpimp:
USC has a great business school and the International business school
is one of the world's best.
Medicine for Jake? Man, ya gotta be proud of that young man!
Winthrop is a fine school. Many of those grads wind up Docs and Lawyers etc.
I know some Judges who went there. Doc friends too.
Side note: $6 tickets? They charged $10 for the USC vs Furman tickets.
Guess they knew the Cocks would buy em all up no matter what the costs.
All them dern Docs, lawyers and CEOs. ;)
I see where a little over 5k were there for the CU vs PC game.
6k plus for Paladins vs Gamecocks. They announced it was the 2nd largest
crowd ever at Flour Field. :)

alrighty fella's...jake hit his first high school home run tonight:bounce::bounce2:....lead off 3rd inning...right center...just missed the score board!......400 plus feet...paid a kid 5 bucks to fetch the historic ball for me...3 minutes later he shows up with the prize....jake had a great night....we lost the first game 7 -10...second game jake pitched 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits....very cold out tonight 40 degrees at game time....but thank the baseball gods no rain...we have another game tomorrow night...i wish we could find the time to take in a game or 2 over in that part of the country...maybe eventually...just depends on how the college search goes...

Way to go Jake !
It's been a trying month for USC.
It took a walk off homer in the last game
at Sarge Frye Field to get into the SEC tourney.
New state of the art ball park is coming along
for next season. It should be a beauty.
First game is Weds with LSU who swept the Cocks
this season.
Clemson backed into the ACC tourney when Duke lost
in the last game of the season. They get rewarded with Miami.

It's time to cinch up and play ball like there is no tomorrow.

Not just telling you this b/c its my job but if he likes baseball and wants to do medicine, then check out Erskine College. There is a link in my sig.

89% acceptance into 1st choice of med school and as high as #11 in NCAA DII in baseball this year. Its a small school and has some great academics with a great atmosphere. Hit me up if I can help with anything (I work there in admissions.)

thanks 89...we will definetly check out that school....we will send an info package to the head coach and see if he has any interest in jake...this season has been fabulous!...jake finished the season with a 5-2 record and 4.05 era...hit lead the team in rbi's and homeruns.....ended the season with a 418 batting average...not to shabby for a sophmore in high school!...last night at the awards ceremony he won pitcher of the year...tonight is league voting and the coach excpects he will get 1st team all league and first team all county....now we will take this weekend and go enjoy a land cruiser outing with tornado alley cruisers than on to summer baseball...he will be playing for the topeka capitals...

Good luck sounds like you have done a great job as a parent!

David whats going on with the shamecocks this yr? Did I miss it or are they unranked? Clemson is 4-0 now and in the top 20.

That stuff happens when you lose 3 top draft picks. :)
In the meantime they have quietly won all their tune up games so far...just like the
obnoxious Tiggers.
Have you seen USC's new state of the art digs? AWESOME!
Looks like tomorrow's clash in Tiggerville is a rain out.
Also looks like Sunday's bout in Colatown is iffy too.
They'll get these games re-scheduled and perhaps the Tigers can revenge the
butt whupping they took last year. :grinpimp:

Now you know what we felt like last yr.

Yeah I'd like to see that new stadium supposed to be pretty sweet. CU was supposed to start its next addition after this baseball season but I'm guessing that is on the back burner until the economy picks back up.

Thats why they play series in baseball and not just 1 game. We need to get osage in here and get an update on that HS baseball.

I understand. USC just got lucky with hot pitching. A 2 hitter is impressive against the
#19 team any way.
Osage? I think I'll PM him. Both state schools could use that lefty he's grooming. ;)

thanks for thinkin of us fellas...jake is still bouncing the round ball....substate basketball is this week he plays varsity so he has at least one more week of basketball...the team started practicing today...37 degrees....hurry up spring!...jake is anxious to get on with baseball...he has worked his ass off all winter...and has grown..6'1"...185lbs...they gunned his fastball at 82 in november so he is moving right along..he should have a great junior season!...as always i will keep you guys posted
