Has nobody got nothin' to chat about on the DAILY chat thread for 10 full days? :meh:

I feel like I'm becoming the club loudmouth and I haven't been here long enough to spout off as much as I do on the various threads. Must be nice for some of you to have a real job if that's your excuse. :p

I hope everyone is too busy wrenching in anticipation of the Spring Meeting to contribute, that is a very good excuse.

If you are all still awake out there, how about giving me :flipoff2: ?

:flipoff2:

Only got one of these :flipoff2: sent to me so far. Does that mean no one is watching? If you are sensitive, I won't :flipoff2: back, just let me know first.

Got a ton of wedding stuff done today YAY(sarcasm). Amazing how much the details add up. Can't wait to get it done so I can finish paying for the day. Though many married guys I have spoke with say that your never truly done paying for the day.....

Too much money spent on one day. I think you should spend the money on the honeymoon go to city hall. :D

We are going the cheaper route. We picked an inexpensive yet cool location for our wedding. A BBQ catering company that I do alot of work with in the summer is cutting us a great rate on the food and servers. I refuse to pay a DJ, that's what Ipods and Laptops are for! Even with all that it's impossible to keep it under 10 grand. Start adding all the rentals, the bartenders, the linens and flatware, wedding bands, not to mention the tux and dress(no I'm not wearing the dress :flipoff2:) and photographer....Bam 10 Grand.
That's not even including our darn honeymoon! another 5grand+

A bartender is a good thing to have but not completly necessary. As long as SOMBODY stands next to the keg and pours beers it works out pretty well. At our wedding it was my brother. I think him and my old man were consuming just as much of the product as they were dolling out though.
Ask Jason about Ice :D

lol, The issue is the camp's function hall we are renting is owned by the town and the town requires that you have licensed bartenders.

I think they mean certified. There are no licenses for bartenders in MA.

One thing to consider regarding the DJ vs iPod route, it's never good at a wedding when the music stops suddenly or doesn't start again right away. With an iPod, anyone can run over and change the song. If you are going to go the iPod route, at least put together a playlist and make someone babysit it.
I went the DJ route and it cost me $1,700 with tip. I got married in August and people who came to the wedding still say what a great DJ we had.

Voyager01 is a DJ and a great guy, maybe PM him.

I meant certified. We are planning on going the Ipod route and having a friend do the announcements to keep it simple. DJ's are great if your looking for a personality or to have someone direct the flow of the wedding but that's not the direction we are going in. We have been working on a playlist, that parts been fun!

We did an all-inclusive wedding in Mexico. Wedding, reception, flight, hotel, food, booze for 5 days cost us $3200 total.
