Some would argue real wheelers don’t need low range.:flipoff2::flipoff2:

Not anyone who's wheeled. I'll take the torque and control of low range

All jokes aside the extended shift lever really does help in a trail Reg where you are shifting in and out of low range and even more so if you run low range reduction gears.

It's harder to shift with reduction gears?

No you just have to shift more. the reduction is great for control on obstacles but is to low for regular trail use.

So on trails in the Sierra's like the Rubicon your constantly shifting from Hi to Low and back.

The mini truck crowd that run doubters and a 5 speed just put it low low and shift from say second gear on a obstacle to fifth gear to scoot down the trail.

Inhad a 4runner with dual cases and a 5 speed. In first gear at 5500 rpm I was going 3

OK I must of miss understood what my buddy was saying when he was asking why I was stopping so much.

Dusten, is there any kind of a break-in period for your rebuilt tranny?

Not that I'm aware of.

This isn't my first rebuilt trans and I've never been told of a break in.

I also don't break in engines. Bring up to temp, check for leaks. Drain oil, change. Change filter.
Send it.

My lightning was broke in this way. 10 years and 730hp and she's still together

Right on, I bet you’re glad to have it back (soon) so you can progress in that build! :flipoff2:

I'm out of money.
Also my daughter has informed me we need to work on her truck.

I was going to chime in earlier with something like " a brand new transmission can't cost too much more than that repair bill." I haven't looked it up, and frankly I don't want to know. I too am happy to hear of a reputable place in the area. I hope your Minnestoa visit goes well. I was born there.

$7300, and I still have to install it, buy fluids, ship mine back, and I wouldn't have my truck for another 5 weeks from now.

Got home early enough before work to swap in the lcp extension and new knob.
