Bummer on the transmission. That’s some rotten luck on such a new (to you) vehicle. I’m encouraged that you found a trans shop sorta close, but a torfab recommendation seems like a pretty good one. Thanks for sharing that info.
It does suck. The trans shop has a good track record, a good warranty and good customer service. So while it's troublesome, I feel confident in the truck still.

Trans shop called this morning. The rear heater lines broke. I expected it after the pictures he sent. I was hoping they'd make it home so i could replace them with rubber hose for Toyota. He's going to pull them out and run a bypass. I'll rerun them later.

I got a few pictures from the trans shop. They said they're waiting on clutches and steels for over drive. And I sent them a new OEM trans mount.

These photos don’t do much to dispel the idea that the transmission is indeed extremely complicated, and sending them out is a great use of funds. Thanks for posting these photos, it’s super fascinating to see the components.

I will work on anything. Except an automatic. I will swap valve bodies. Install a converter. Do maintenance. That's it.

My trail tailor front recovery points showed up.

Powerboat?

I'm going to smooth them. Prime and paint them low gloss black
My autocorrect hates the way I spell and think.:slap:, I edited my post, hope you don't mind.

That makes way more sense I don't want them powder coated because with their intended use I expect them to get chipped and I can easily repaint them. They'll be replaced when I get a bumper. So this was more cost effective

Sounds smart. All my Powerboat....I mean powder coated components are full of rusty chips, and now I get to decide how to touch them up...

I have a lot of powder coat on my lightning. But it's a garage queen. So I don't worry about it chipping.

Got bored before work and took my Milwaukee right angle die grinder with some blue 3m pads and cleaned up the surface. Then I hit them with some Rust-Oleum primer. I'll let them sit till after work then I'll hit em with some wrinkle black and bake em.

Smells like a build thread in the making.🤣

I have a friend who fabricates. He wants to build a land cruiser bumper. Mines damaged and needs replaced. So it's more out of necessity.

Whatever you gotta tell yourself.

Do you have any idea what the bumper will look like?

Tube and plate. I have ideas. But it won't be for a bit. Mines been cut and it's missing an end cap.
