Mini update. I added all the juices except for brake fluid. So far, nothing is on the floor.....lol

Unfortunately there's an oil leak at the rear of the motor. Being discouraged, I finished the fuel pump and sender wiring. I routed the wire with the rest of the factory wires. I terminated everything in the trunk.
Then painted some stuff.

Spent a few hours cleaning up some window trim tonight. I only have 1 wire to terminate and I can turn on the Sniper and program it. I plan to rig a short piece of exhaust to temporarily mount the O2 sensor. Then add some gas and see what happens. Will report back tomorrow after all this takes place. Fingers crossed.... :grinpimp:

Didn't get to spend as much time on 68 as I would have liked. I fiddled and finished up a bunch of loose ends. Got some temporary exhaust pieces I need to attach. Checked a few things to assure I could give it a crank......and bam.....no crank. Starter, which was a used one from the stash, was no good. Time for a new starter.......it's always something.

I placed the front fenders on just to get started on fitting the Shelby nose parts.

I needed a break from this project. I thought I had installed the incorrect flexplate and I was very frustrated. Luckily after checking and checking again......I do have the correct one. I also picked up a new starter. Still need to install that, program the Sniper, and try to fire this up.

In the meantime, I have been thrashing to get my 69 Mustang prepared for the Duct Tape Drags in Tucson this weekend. This Mustang was given to me by my buddy that passed as kind of a payment for restoring the 68 for Betty, his widow.

I actually got it running awhile back but that was it. In the past couple weeks, I replaced the entire brake system, fuel system and cooling system. Built some exhaust, installed seat belts and had the windshield replaced. I drove it around the block last week. This was the first time this car has moved under its own power in like 25 years. I still have a few items to wrap up before I head down this Friday morning. Wish me luck.

Here's a few pics of the 69......

Good morning. Got here yesterday and had to pull the carb apart and clean it out, cause it would not idle. Thanks to my friend Steve for helping with that. We made one full pass down the strip. It was slow but it made it. That has been the most I've driven this car to date.

Gonna try to get more passe in today and maybe even try the burnout pit.

Hooked up the battery, programmed the Sniper, added gas, cycled the key and........the Sniper wizard said all is good and I could hear a leak. The spot I predicted to leak....did in fact leak.

I am using a Holley in tank pump that is made just for this application. Weird thing is the output line is 5/16 and everything else is 3/8. The fuel injection style clamp I am using seems to big. I'll have to get some more clamps and fiddle with this another day. Sorry for the buzz kill update. o_O

Still need to rig up a short section of exhaust pipe to mount the o2 sensor. Then it's first fire up time.
I fixed the fuel leak and have cycled the fuel pump several times with no issues or leakage.
In my procrastinating......instead of that.....I worked on making the driver side quarter panel scoop fit. I used some fiberglass reinforced body filler. Turned out pretty good.
