That was an old pick I postedI've had a couple steel rigid single speeds but I'm old now. I'll take the maintenance penalty for 120mm f/r suspension

JJ - I have and still ride a Kona Unit. I too replaced the rigid front fork with a 100mm RocShok due to wrist pain after a few hours on the bike. What kind of work did you have done? The only items I leave to the pros are rear shocks due to the nitrogen charge and building/truing wheels. Building/truing wheels are some kind of devil magic. I built a truing stand and tried building/truing wheels a few times only to never be able to true them or overtightening the spokes.
You should consider a steel rigid single speed. No suspension, mechanical brakes, fat tires, and one gear.

Sweetjust swapped a bunch of parts onto the Chameleon. Carbon 35mm bar, xtr brakes, eagle drivetrain, Cane Creek Coil with 140mm. Absolute black oval chainring. Rage face dropper. Local guy laced up some Spank wheels to I9 hubs. The yeti has a bit too much travel for Charlotte so this is my Clt bike

No but we've talked about it a lot. Lately the trails in the Triangle have been closed due to wet weather conditions. Wet trails cause erosion which then leads the park rangers to shutting down the trails even longer so they can dry out and recover. So, without reading 17 pages, do you guys go mountain biking as a group? I haven't rode USNWC trails in a long time.
I'd be down for a low key group ride. I'm a slow and steady biker though, you "EXTREME BIKING" folks would have to wait for me at the end of the trail - I've done a few group rides with guys in their 20's and yeah... my old ass can't keep up.
