:deadhorse:yeah and I fought it for as long as possible but eventually their new line up brought me to my knees....... Sorry I'm not strong enough

Saw a Crispin Friday at the Brewers kettle after the cookout and thought of you Al. lol

Had these three over Labor day weekend as well as just about every pumpkin beer that Good Bottle Co. sells I'll don't have any pics of the 20 or so bottles of different pumpkin ale but if its on sale we pretty much had it there. I'll just post up these 4.

Shipyards new special pumpkin beer. Shipyards regular pumpkin is pretty damn good and this one with a huge increase in ABV just crams it up a notch.

Old Chub is great..... adding a Nitro in the name just makes it amazing.... only drank that at the brewery.

Hoptologist DIPA...... one word "great" it is quickly climbing the ranks on BA and now I know why

Special beer from my favorite brewery..... only thing to say is I've stocked up a few bottles for when it goes out of production in a few months.

This was last nights beer selection after I finished the yard work.

Just back from a trip to LA and while we couldn't squeeze in as much beer time as we do on normal vacations due to driving all over So Cal visiting family and friends we did make it to a few good places.

Didn't get as many pics of the beers as I wanted due to bad battery in my cell phone but I got a few.

1st up is an icelandic beer I had never seen before... we had the Pale and the Porter.... they were both worth the money and then some.

(side note I bought this and a bottle of scotch on a sunday at 10am)

No trip back home would be complete without some Pliny

PlinyTheElder.jpg

A guy I went to High School with has opened the best Burger/beer bars in the nation by far.

Hit up his Pasadena Slaters 50/50 location and was treated to an awesome burger (the 50/50 part means it is 50% angus beef and 50% bacon) and had some Pliny, 6 different Stones, and some other Russian River beer I forget the names of.

If you are ever in So Cal and like beer I highly recommend this place, the food and beer selection is out of this world.

We decided since Stone was our favorite Brewery we had to take Andrea there since she has never been. It has changed a bunch since I was last there. The new bistro by far is the best food you can get at a brewery and the brewery itself is the best looking one i've ever seen. We had about 20 tasters each including some that were Cali only (pumpkin ale and a new barley wine that is 18%)

They occupy the same building and we tried quite a few. I can't really remember all we tried but Port City was more like a oskar blues type brewery with what they had, but their specialty was Porters. Lost Abbey did mainly belgium style ales but at incredibly high ABV %.

I took these two home and they were damn good. Both over 12% and very tasty.

Next up was my favorite bar and the highest bar/restaurant in LA

it sits a little down the road from this which is the highest paved road in LA.

Newcombs ranch sits in the Angeles National Forest and (besides the ski areas) is the only private property for about 70 miles in each direction.

Sadly it was closed that day as Ford had rented it out for a journalist driving day in the new Mustang GT through the Crest.... I did wonder why we passed 20 new GT's on the way up there. (just about any mountain driving filmed for any car show is done up there so this is a regular thing)

The Ford guys did load me up on monsters and red bulls though as well as some sandwiches and ford swag.

2016 mustang GT. There was about 20 of them all with Michigan plates

Because Angeles Crest is one of the best driving roads in the country the parking lot at Newcombs normally looks like this when I would go there.

I don't really have much else to share.. I had a ton more beer but didn't get any pictures.

My Brothers wedding in Tahoe was an open bar with 6 taps of Sierra Nevada and 6 taps for Russian River on it. Both two of my favorite breweries. Between that and the free Scotch the night was great.

I lived in Palmdale for 5 years - I took the Angeles Crest every chance I got! Stone IPA is my favorite IPA!

Ha you fell for that? That's just some rock they built around ;)

Looks like one HELLUVA beer trip. Your liver hates you ;)

^^^^^^

By far my least favorite monthly from Foothills so far. Too malty for me. Love what they are doing with this though!

My good friend Shawn officially opened their brewery this week to public. It's called sugar creek brewing company located here in charlotte. He's an nc state grad and actually owns a white 79 fj40 he's had since high school. He bought the former old Mecklenburg brewery when they moved to a new place. Beers are really good and tap room looks damn good. Stop in for a brew, growler or keg!
