Thank you, I only have front pig bits for now so it’s going to take a little bit for me to track down the rear sections I need. I sold the parts pigs I had to @ginericLC for a 55 project he was going to build and always planed on going over and harvesting the parts I needed for this when the time came, unfortunately Eric’s health prevented him from getting too far on his pig project and he sold all of his parts before I could buy what I needed so I’ll be back on the hunt for a donor soon.
Maybe by PP2019 I’ll have my poop in a scoop.
Jim I still have a few 55 parts. The gold one is still kicking around in the backyard. I didn't let it go with the rest. I regret selling the 55s. I mean I needed to sell them as I wasn't ever going to be able to take on that project but I regret selling them for the price I did and I'm not overly happy to see them for sale again. I lost a bunch of money on them and I was OK with it when I thought they were going to a permanent home.

Started on the grill, cutting out the letters sucks.
I had left just TOY with the factory spacing and it fit well and would have been super easy to weld back in and I should have just stopped there. My wife made plans for me tomorrow so maybe Monday after work I’ll take a second look at it and decide if I want to finish it.

Angle grinder with a cutoff wheel then filed, sanded and welded back together. Way too much work and I hate the way it looks, I would start over if grills were easier to come by.

Mounted the mini winch and started replacing some of the tube I removed, adding tube couplers to the top tube to make it removable, this should make removing the engine a bunch easier. I can now put the sheet metal back on and figure out were to put the rest of the tubes so they wont interfere with headlights and other accessories.

Started patching the grill back together, still have a bit of welding to do before I paint it but it's holding the spot for now so I can start fitting everything else.
Ordered the headlights @Delancy was talking about with internal blinkers and also got them mounted, hopefully I’ll get some more shop time soon and I can get the side aprons mounted and move on to a bumper of some sort.

It should work………
Hard to tell from my crappy cellphone pictures but the grill will mount close to the fairlead and the opening is about an inch wider, the rope will almost pull straight to the side before it rubs the grill.
Everything is a compromise trying to fit pig skin to this car, if I were smart I would have just bought a fiberglass FJ40 buggy hood but clearly I’m not smart..

Well one step forward and three steps back……
Chinese headlights have an issue with one of the internal blinker lights, I spent two days modifying the housings so I’m kind of stuck with them.
Made some reinforcements for the side aprons then made mounts to attach them to the tubing in the front, everything looked great until I decided to check the flex with my forklift and the tire hits in the front and rear when flexed and turning. I would need to remove 90% of the bottom of the aprons to get what I need for clearance. Not sure mounting 10% of a side apron is worth the trouble.
Everything is cut back off and I’m going to take a break for a while and put some more thought into it.
