My buddy and I were going to build a vintage IH car hauler right outta high school, both our dads talked us out of it (whispch was good ‘cause we were broke kids) 2 years later we went halves in on the bread van I still own, a stretched 1980 Grumman on propane...yours will be way cooler.

This 1 ☺

It’s considered rude to talk about something without posting pictures down here in the sty.
Hmm, no digital pics of the setup...give me a bit, I’ll have to fire up the vhs and hope tape isn’t crumbled 🙄

Or I can take a pic of a slimy green breadvan, but that doesn’t really do it justice.

Ok I lied, I do have a digital pic of a slimy breadvan...I used to drag two heavy 20’ steel ramps in & out for loading but eventually built a ramp door, it’s set up to sit on jack stands and a pair of 6’ ramps make the approach angle work for the racecar. Has a trailer winch bolted to the floor, which is 23’ clear from the doghouse to rear door, also an RV furnace from when I would park it on the lake ice racing.

Everything gets a name eventually, this one is “the loaf”
Ok back to Vintage toy haulers & pigs...

Did you have any type of living quarters in the back?
Before you answer remember if you say yes we are going to ask for pictures.

Not lived in, there is a folding tire rack that cleared the roof of the racecars and folds up for bigger stuff...I guess I’ll need to snap a pic after lunch now that I’ve answered :hmm:

Paint job is starting to go past “patina” it’s been storing my Baja (& lotsa mice) since shortly after we moved

You can see the frame I welded up to facilitate the tire rack, it’s single skin so I couldn’t really hang much weight on the wall.

Probably cheaper to buy one that’s done...

But where’s the fun in that!

OK I'm shifting gears again on this debacle. More to come..

C'mon cut the :poop: . Quit F#@&in :flipoff2: with us
Literally I’m shifting gears, lots of them. This thing has three sticks and 30 forward gears and shifting them has become a full time job. OH and a shift knob or two wouldn't hurt.

Decided not to build the Diamond T and buy a Mack instead.
