point is, that I have to buy the compressor elbows for the hose connection and those are frikken expensive here.

Yes. You need a CT26 Compressor housing from a 7MGTE turbo.
It's almost a straight swap, some minor modifications.
I swapped the compressor housing on a 1HD-FTE turbo for my HZJ105, I think there some info on swapping the housings in my turbo build thread
Just ordered this dump pipe. Can't speak for the quality yet but its way cheaper than anything else I've seen for a ct26. CT26 Downpipe Turbocharger Flange stainless steel 3" Outlet V-Band Fits Toyota | eBay

For those who might be interested to purchase a Holset HX30 "super", I found a supplier in China.
They sell over Aliexpress (I bought a few times over Aliexpress, and had no problem at all)
Here is the link to the supplier: I asked them if the Holset they offer has the 46mm Compressor wheel and a 6cm turbine housing and they confirmed that, but if purchased better double check for the right product.

You might want to look at port matching the turbine inlet flange to the manifold. Shape looks different? I guess you'll need an adapter too

If someone looks for turboflanges customfabshop has a lot of them for good prices and they also can make you custom designed flanges and adapters. cnc machined
Those flange adapters will save a lot of time and trouble for non one to one bolt on applications
like the above Holset with T3 flange, that needs an adapter for the 2.5" Toyota flange, I would say around 70USD isnt that much for
a good machined flange converter

Been watching this thread for a while and im saving my pennies for a Munro racing highflow CT26.
Ive seen this on Fleebay. Would this be a good size and be as responsive as an early 1hdt ct26? It has 6+6 and a 50mm inducer on the compressor im not sure on the exducer. The turbine side looks to be the size of an FTE but this only has 10 blades not 12. also doesnt run a 360deg thrust but does that matter for under 20psi?
I know its fleebay and poor man pays twice but it looks better than MAMBA offerings.

No correct link. I know a Munro will work, this is just another option with a different wheel combination and i was curious how this would respond.
For what it is worth I have a Mamba td05-18g hybrid. TD05 centre section and 18g compressor with 7cm CT26 exhaust housing grafted on by Mamba, using the smaller TD05 exhaust wheel. 25,000km on it and it is still working well.
I pulled my motor apart to fix head gasket issue and I also inspected the turbo. Turbo is still.in good shape. Thrust washer looks new and bushing clearances are within spec. I Was running 24psi at the manifold, post intercooler.
The turbo came with an 11blade GTX compressor wheel and 9 blade exhaust turbine. I changed to a 12 blade exhaust turbine and couldnt be happier ...faster spool and better cruise boost. Lower egts too. The nine blade turbine was definitely not well suited to our application and I dont think a 10 blade exhaust wheel would be any better.[/QUOTE]

Out of curiosity sake with that mamba setup what psi were you running flat ground cruising 100km with no real load?
I shot a vid with the nine blade exhaust turbine a couple of years ago and it was 7 psi or so. After changing to the 12 blade turbine I think it was 10 or 12 psi. Keep in mind that is with a leaking head gasket. Boost is measured off of the intake manifold...post intercooler.

Yes it makes sense. The more blades you have the more you restrict exhaust flow at all rpm. This generates higher drive pressure and gas velocity sooner. Spools quicker. Remove blades... now there is less backpressure everywhere in the range. It takes more flow to attain the same drive pressure. Usually higher rpm required. Lag.
With allthings being equal except the 12 blade turbine it was a noticable improvement to spool and responce time. Way easier on fuel. The 9 blade turbine was pretty lazy ....pretty slow to boost by comparison.
The quoted advantage of the nine blade turbine is less restriction to flow on the top end. This is true but there is also less restriction to flow thru the entire rpm range. This design is for high rpm gas engines looking for less restriction at high rpm.

That's ok, it was based on my experience with the same design 9 blade turbine on td04hl turbos. Your turbo looks very responsive and egts are nicely controlled. I wouldn't push the td05 bearings or compressor much past what your doing now but it looks good. I've been toying with some high pressure turbos for this engine but havent assembled anything. It's hard to mock it up cus I don't have an engine bay to measure on hand. I don't even know if there is much demand for single turbos running close 40 psi though. Might be too crazy for folks.
