Just arrived! Spraying it now with 4 coats of Duplicolor protective clear coat finish. It's looking great! Will post a picture of it once I get it mounted to the grill. Thank you, Mark!

Can you post a pic of how you mount it to please?

I would use a small plate of some sort. Drill 2 holes for the screws and sandwich the grill between the badge and the plate.

A favor please. Anyone who received a badge from this last batch. Can you measure the distance (center to center) between the two posts of your badge? Looking to see if the Red & Orange ones are the exact same. If by chance you have a badge from the last batch and haven't mounted yet, can you please measure one for me also?

I cannot for the life of me get my badge to line up between the grid holes of the mesh grill. Either my mesh grill is not the original or the recent batch of Orange badges was manufactured with the wrong post measurements.

Any and all help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Blake:bang:

I just compared a badge from the very FIRST batch with a current one and in fact the posts are different. To be honest I did not ever specify where the posts should be... it was never part of the discussion before. I hope it is just a matter of making a little bend on the mesh to get the posts to work....

Mark - thanks for responding back. Unforn where the posts fits, is right at the intersection of the wire crosshatch. So in order to make it fit, I am going to have to actually cut out the cross hatch. Actually cutting the mesh screen is not an ideal solution for a classic vehicle vs manufacturing the badge to fit the crosshatch originally. If it was just a slight bend, no biggie. I will go back outside and take another stab at this and see if I can come of with a cleaner solution that having to cut the mesh.

I keep going back to the same question in my head. What are the other FJ40 guys doing? Are the mesh screens different sizes for different years/models?

I understand your concern about modifying the screen. I don't know if screens are different over the models/years. Maybe there is a way to mount the badge to a plate that then mounts to the screen? (I'll take a look at my 40)

If you need a refund just let me know...

I posted that problem a long time ago, in this thread. I chose to mount mine slightly crooked:

Finally got mine mounted. I think mine is from the very first batch. The stud holes are spaced such that it is impossible to mount it level, at least on my truck.

Did this but the threaded rods that are supplied aren't long enough for the 60 grill screen. Applied 4 coats of clear coat and called it a day. Will try and source more threaded rod and cut to length

submitted payment for 1 Orange.
