i do not agree i think that australians use lc's to the extreme. they use 80's and 100 series trucks (diesel of course) to escort those "land trains" across some of the most in hospitable terrains north to south as the crow flies in aus. not uncommon for them to log over a million miles on these lc's. were talkin' highway speeds on unimproved unpaved roads....

The Aussie's are the s*** no doubt, I like catching these animal documentaries and seeing a LC crossing some insane terrrain. My ass wouldn't have any problem in an 80, or 100 thats coush coush compared to a 40 with a 4inch lift.

aus is not even considered a third world country. hell kick that kick vent open and make for the highway is my attitude.
Lead the way bud, we're headed to Holley Beach Sat morning

before 80's and 100's aussies used hj45's hj60's bj42's etc........

I'm not prejudice I love'em all :D especially dem diesels :) If only someone would teach them to drive on the right side of the road we wouldn't have to do any conversions.

yup wrong side of the road. i can say that i have done a few years time in a 40 (and some other unspeakable short wheelbase vehicles). tough. not all of us a ascended the height's as theriot's 40, but he and i have made some burly jaunts on those 90 inch wheel bases. yup that is why my ass will be in another 60 series in a couple of weeks:

ck it out i will be at the meeting on the 26 in it.....

Extended Brake Line Question

Found this on the 60 forum for brake lines - NAPA - part #38881.

When I put these on, what else has to be done? I may be winging some of this solo and want to know what to expect or what else I may have to do. What is the install like?

Thanks.

Install is easy, but since your putting on a test lift you may run into a few hiccups here and there but nothing that can't be worked out. On the brake lines is that a part# someone used on their 4inch lift? The only thing you'll need to do after you change them is to bleed all 4-wheels to get all the air out. Once you get the front U-Bolts off I would take them over to Lafayette Spring and have some new ones cut. I read that the rear came with the kit. If it were me I'd order greaseable shackles to go with that new snazzy lift. Let me know when you plan to do it and I'll try to drop in and help when I can :)

Man-A-Fre sells a set of these: http://www.man-a-fre.com/parts_accessories/StainlessSteelBraidedDOTBrakeLines.htm

How do you bleed the lines? Pretty easy?

What exactly are greaseable shackles and where do I get them?

Thanks podnuh.

I may set my laptup up in the garage when I do the install. :grinpimp:

Yep, those should work it says for various lifts I'd make sure you ask them just to clarify that they'll work with a 4inch lift. On the shackles I'd go with something like this http://www.man-a-fre.com/pa/greasableshackles.htm. Bleeding the brakes call me I'll help you there are alot of ways you can do it but I have a nice coffee glass you can use that'll does the trick easy. Here is a brief article http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/maintenance/bleedingbrakes/ the only thing I disagree with is his order of doing it I start with the RR, LR, RF, and then LF you always start with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder.

I say w/ all M's flexing that he'll be doing... he's gonna need the anti-reverse shackle :D

me

M your mud clan link don't work, FYI.

Hey Marty i was thinking I have the old U bolts from my lift. If they are the same size that are on your ride, you can take one to Lafayette spring and have yours made so that you will have them on hand when you do the lift. Just a thought.
