Out of curiosity, where did you order the "super" hx30w?
Thx,
Andy

I ordered it from a Holest distributor in China, “Gaidite”, still waiting for it to arrive and confirm it’s the correct Turbo in the box. It’s my understanding that all the “Super” 30’s have come from China and are the HX30W 2835278/13024082 originally spec’d for the Deutz 4.16 liter engine.

This is the picture of the box I had them send me before shipping,

Cool! Thank you! I was curious as I've seen it written before, but had no idea who made it. It makes sense now that it's for a different application!

Btw, I love this build!!!!

So I set out to go to Starbucks and get myself a Smoked Butterscotch Latte before the wife and I were going to go to the Abercrombie & Fitch store at the mall to get matching valentines sweaters when ginericLC said he knew a short cut that could save us time at the Starbucks drive through so I thought what the hell we’ll just follow you, 8 hours later up on top of this mountain pass he finally stopped long enough for me to ask if he was sure this was the way to Starbucks.

Unfortunately he was only stopping for a trail plug, an hour later the plug was removed but still stopping our forward progress to Starbucks and day light was starting to slip away so the decision was made to abandon Smoked Butterscotch Latte run and try to get to the mall before closing.

By now I’m starting to think Ginericlc doesn’t really now how to get to the mall and what is all the brown stuff that’s sticking to everything, we never made it to the mall but we did have a great time with Eric and the boys I only hope the detail guy can get all this brown sticky goop off the pig before tomorrow’s show and shine at the park..

Oh man, we got to get 'em muddy? Nobody said anything about mud. :)

Great post and good to see you getting to use it. #MUDFLAPS

Man, that's one cool looking rig! I hadn't ever seen one 'till I came across this thread! Looks like a fun excursion!

I'm glad I got to see it in action. It is an amazing rig. And for the record Jim is a smart guy. Keeping those narrow 40/55 width axles under the 55 kept his windows nice and clean. My 60 with 80 axles has about 2" thick mud plastered all over it. And Jim you should know Starbucks goes against your values, I was saving you. Thanks again for trekking out in the rain with me and the boys.

Uggghhhhh........ Sounds like a rough day. Oh well, way to make those lemons into lemonade. Next time just ask Siri for "Starbucks nearest to me"........
There was no Siri on this route.

Thank you!

Like the 69 grill lights, but did you ever try/want the fender mounted running lights like on the later models?

Had them but a branch jumped out of the forest and ripped one off, I can’t control angry brunches so I welded up the hole and went with the grill blinker mod.

You’re going to ruin my street cred if you keep this up, everyone knows a rig like mine only goes off-road when the mall parking lot is full and you get redirected to overflow parking.

NICE!!!!!!

Btw, did your new HX30W come in? I'm anxious to see your feedback!

Well as it turns out my order got held up in the 7 day Chinese New Year celebrations so I’m still a week or two out before the Super 30 gets here then I’ll need to modify the turbo to fit with my current plumbing. The good news is to company I ordered the turbo from didn’t celebrate Traditional Chinese New Year — 23 days so I guess I need to count my blessings.

When I ordered the turbo they told me it would go out before the New Year’s celebrations then I received an E-mail a week and a half ago telling me the factory I ordered the turbo from switched carriers from DHL to FedEx and that’s why when I called DHL trying to track down my turbo DHL had no knowledge of it, so I spend a week trying to get a FedEx tracking number to no avail and just about the time I’m ready to submit a claim to try to get my money back I get a call “two days ago” from the place in China I ordered the turbo from telling me that they are very sorry and they switched carriers again from FedEx back to DHL with a tracking number showing I should see it in two weeks.

Today UPS drops off a box with a turbo, fortunately it’s the correct turbo, unfortunately the headers for my other pig showed up yesterday and I’m in the middle of sawzalling everything I don’t like out of the other pig to make room for all the new stuff.

Hopefully in about a week I can get back to this and put an end to my turbo drama.

I'm not that lucky, I'll get billed for the extra turbos that I'll never see..

You of all people know for a fact that this pig was built to use and is likely to suffer trail damage again. Thanks again for hanging out with us during my moment of shame, think I still owe you a few shots of good whiskey next time we meet.

J Mack, are you the 3 legged pig from the Utah run

Well since you put it that way maybe I only owe you one shot of quality whiskey.

Yes that’s me and if you ever refer to my pig as tripod again I’ll have to renege on the one shot I’m still offering..
