Congrats to all the Sand Chef competitors! It was really fun to watch you all in action and taste all the recipies! (except the lamb kabobs, I think only the lucky judges got those!)
My personal favorite was the filo pastry (altho it would have been better w/ powdered sugar! Listen to the Icelandic women, they know what they are talking about!
- but really, excellent!This crew was on!)
and Norcal Doug's seafood etouffee... which I would buy in bulk for trips, maybe over some of the coconut rice! but it was ALL so delicious and great fun.
the rest of the weekend went so fast but it was too much fun, with too many laughs!

SNT was a blast - I had a lot of fun wheelin and meeting some new people. Sorry Woody had such a bad weekend. I told him and all of my coworkers that I wasn't going to jump the 40...

Thanks Jim & Katherine for all your work putting on such a great event...Socially speaking, this is by far the best event of the year and it just keeps getting better. I ducked out early this morning before allot of people were up so good bye to all those I missed.
So there was no shortage of comedy this year...mickey_rubicon's struggle to make it back to the bon-fire was classic. He did 3 face plants with some chumming for sand fleas in between before finally making it.
Then there was the guy who thought early morning bon-fire embers would make a really good sleeping bag warmer
The classic part of that was you yelling at them that their bag was on fire, but still making sure that you got the shot in!
I think your words were - "Hey you dumbsh!t, get up! Your bags on fire!"

that was my sleeping bag, that's the last time I let a frenchman borrow my sleeping bag - I am just glad that we found the beer bong, we almost thought we lost it. Somebody also stole my jug of wine, but what they did not know is that I pissed in it before I went to bed.

my buddy did not even remember the whole thing, I see him get up from the ground by my truck and it looks like he was hit by some artillery and I ask him what the heck happened and he was like - ah I don remeber anything. We are going to frame the burnt bag corner and put t up on the wall in the garage to remember the biggest liver dammage we both did to ourselves -" there is ablack spot on my liver today" - its S&T06
Wow!! What a wild and fun Surf n Turf Desertdude & I had a super time, it was sooooo great to catch up with old friends (including some wheeling buddies from Alaska!!) and meet tons of new friends. Oh, and the entertainment factor was set on HIGH this year
Big Thanks to Jim & Katherine once again. Their endless and positive energy really make for a super special event. I had a blast helping Katherine at the t-shirt booth--really got to meet everybody!
And ya' know--I want to thank y'all for a heck of a good ol' time!
