Jim & Katheryn - THANK YOU! That is all!

Jim and Katherine,
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Thank you for yet another fantasmagorical Surf-n-Turf.
Speaking for the Johnson crew, I can wholeheartley say that we all had the best time ever. Surf-n-Turf just gets better and better every year.
I'm bummed that I missed out on having that shot of the "good stuff" with you Saturday night, Jim, but there's always next time. :D
It was great putting faces to the names of people I've traded messages with on MUD. It's never a surprise to me that y'all are even cooler in person :)

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet up with everyone. 3 days never seems to be enough time to fit it all in.

Until next time.

I want to thank Sam (PKP80) for hauling a front bumper for me, and another thanks go to Jim.

Good times, great people. I didn't show up until today about 0930 today, played in the dunes for a little while, met a lot of nice people, than headed over to Pozo, fun little trail ride. I am definitely going to make it a whole weekend next year. BC was well represented, crazy dudes driving for 26 hours:eek:
Kris

Glad I got a chance to meet you. Your RHD BJ's a beaut!

Hey Mickey, I'm glade you fond your Beer bong! You had the best quote I hard all year! "stealing someones beer bong is like stealing someones used condom"
Man I laughed for hours on that one.

Jim, Katherine, Kevin, Brett, Noah, Doug, Alvaro, Robb, Cat, Bella...:D, and many more.

All of the great people behind the computers.

Good to finally meet all of you.

Here is to a great weekend!

Another fun year. When I actually have time (I didn't have time for SN'T, but we made it) to post pics, they'll end up. The fj cruisers were getting the best air. One of the trail team guys got a good 4 or 5 feet of air, then the skid plate snapped off and the smell of gear oil was in the air. I'm sure he'll figure out where that smell came from soon.

And that rental FJ, we won't talk about that. We'll just say a rental car can fly higher than a non rental car. buckle. buckle. buckle.

We showed up on Friday and had a blast cooking. I got a $30 apron for a $20 entry fee, good deal, then I cut the s*** out of my hand cleaning knifes after the comp. There was a lot of confusion of who made what, but it was fun. I think they had one of our dishes right. Come Sunday we slowly wandered to Pozo, had a gallon of beer and some grub (lighter fluid is an awesome seasoning for bread), and headed home. In trying to find a pisser, we stumbled into the smallest brewpub I have ever seen in Santa Maria. Cool little place between the locals, the herbs, and the banjo players. Interesting to say the least.

We will see everyone next year. Met a lot of new people this year.
Thank ya' Jim, that was an enormous amount of work on your part. Surf and Turf is almost outgrowing its britches to have such a small group of people prepare so much!

Thanks Doug,

It was nice to see a familiar face, even though I never met you before, I recognized you from Mud.

Weird story (for me it was kinda weird) I stopped at the road sign, it was being taken down by Tom, (Never met him before either), he checks out my ride and starts interpreting the Japanese writing, mind you Tom is a white Dude, never seen a withe guy speak Japanese:doh:

No this is not a racist statement, just pretty cool for a white dude to speak Japanese, I guess I need to get out more often.

So I meet up with Tom again at Pozo and he interprets my Japanese receipts, Cool dude, thanks Tom. Now the weird part, start BS ing with Tom and (crap I can't think of your name right now, sorry) Well come to find out Tom grew up less than a mile from my wifes house, and a coupe miles away from where I grew up:eek: , yet we both now live over 250 miles away from our old stomping grounds, small world.

So what are the odds meeting one guy out of hundreds who can tell you a little history on your Cruiser, that was written in a totally foreign language, and grew up a few miles away from your childhood home? To me that was awesome.

Sorry for the long post, again Great People, Great Time. Kudos to Jim & Katheryn.

One of the guys in the camp next to ours told us Saturday night she had posed on his LC...sans clothes...don't know the guy but he should have another story/pics about her to post up ;)

that guy is me. if you want a pic i send you the proof. it was awesome. she did only for a swig of my jager. but then at the end of the night me and mickey were missing a 5th of jack that we really could have used. but i had a pornstar on the hood on my truck

Best Surf & Turf ever!

Big thanks to Jim for pulling it off once again. SnT is getting bigger and better. To me SnT is the best way to end a year of wheeling. You get to chill out and see a lot of people who you've seen thought out the year at different events, but haven't had the chance to spend any time with them. Having said this, there's never enough time to meet everyone.

Thanks to my wife, FirstToy, Roberto, Expressomon, Deserdude and Dessert girl for all their help with the Sand Chef competition. Without them it would not have been possible.

I had the best birthday party I could ask for.

One of the funniest moments for me was when Mickey_Rubicon and his friends approached Pascuale and me playing air guitars. It was classic.

Regards

Alvaro

I think we all want proof of what happened.

I think I met the same Tom that you are talking about. Is he from San Mateo? He parked behind me while we were all lining up to make long line. I believe his wife is Japanese.

another Mickey-ism from Friday night.

Dude, this cheesy rice is awesome, it's like the bears Defense of the 70's for my liver...got any more?

I fed lover boy some grub too. Saw the photo/fire op live from my rig.
CLASSIC!

Poor Remi had no idea what had happened. Watched him drag the bag back to his camp, I was chuckling at the 100 yard zig zag snail track it left in the sand, smoldering, head hanging low. Saw him after the line up, said "hey Lover Boy!" looked confused until I fed him again later that day and explained what had happened with tthe whole "EnFuego Bag" incident.

I don't know if that girl was a porn star, but she did have a large lower back tattoo.

Hey thanks for the offer but based on what I heard I think I am better NOT seeing the pics

But hey...I'm happy as hell for ya that you finally got someone to pose on that truck of yours ;)
