Caught the gist of the black paint comment. Shiny black paint shows flaws really well. I would consider it but the truck is green. Black would look funny next to the doorjambs as well as showing my screw-ups.
By the way, its not even my thread. Kevin started it. I just comment like everyone else.

Black is the worst for showing AZ pinstripe, and hot for AZ wheeling!

I have a dark green cruiser, you don't gotta tell me.. You get a little scratch and dust seems to stick to it making it look 100 times worse.. In wisconsin I had a van once that had honestly 30+ maybe 2-5 inch rust spots.. I sanded them sorta well and took it in for a $300 white (the paint was white, I don't remember what race the guy who painted it was) paint job, you honestly couldn't see the flaws without getting right up on it! Of course the next winter and it looked like hell again but man it looked great for 6 months!

LOL now that was funny!

I used to have a '79, L-82, 4 speed, vette that was black and within 5 minutes of washing it, it showed that fine layer of AZ dust and parking lot pin stripes. I coudn't imagine having a 4x4 that was that color. I gotta agree with Kevin though, black paint in AZ is not a good mix. I used to have lighters explode in the car all the time. :grinpimp:

Man, I just play a lot, I deal with a lot of stress for work and end up turning just about anything into a joke... From cheating girlfriends to dead grandparents, just how I deal with stress I guess... Sorry, I know I come off way wrong sometimes....

As for the paint, I always think a nice silver is good, you're right, black does suck to keep clean, for the heat and so on. In a 4x4 I think silver or some shade of is a good choice...

Nah, silver seems to oxidize too fast in AZ IMHO. Brian is better sticking with the original color and a good deep clear coat so he can buff out all the AZ pin stripe. As for me I will keep my white paint job, less trouble and work to keep it looking good. Besides Brian doesn't need to proove himself in a paint job, I've seen the before and after pics.

COM on! Black is beautiful as long as you don’t drive thru bushes:flipoff2:

I do have to admit I have spent as more time washing this car in the last 10 years then driving it. :crybaby:

At the risk of sounding non PC, white is where it's at man!
No other color in AZ

But the Sunny Belly should remain true to it's colors and it looks like it will turn out better the factory in the regard.

The Daniel daily drivers:

The neighbors have got it right too..

That is a kick asss Vette though Phil. You bastage! :flipoff2:

Nice vette phil, I do miss mine. I had it and daily drove it for 5 yrs and sold it for $300 more then I paid for it. Not too many cars you can say that about that hold their value like that. Is she a 73?

That's sorta the point to a car like that! I spend more time fixing one of my 40s then driving it!

And I get blamed for hijacking threads!!!!

Cool! Someday I want to have a plastic car with no trunk. What a useful machine!

Gotta get the girls some how! If driving over big things won't do it then that'll get the job done. Now if you have a wife already, let go of the saving it for my son crap and sell it for a mans ride!

Phil I got your back here. Being a former vette owner I know just how much the car is a part of you. I still miss mine on a weekly basis. I was 19 when I bought it and believe me I was still young enough to enjoy all the doors it opened for me. I didn't truly appreciate the car for what the car was. The next vette I own will be for the car this time, and not a mid-life crisis. :D
