Should of posted this before i ordered my lockers,
is my front axle 30 spline?
84/2.4/5spd/full factory truss

Or should Ihave gotten the 27spline from Aussie?

I hope its 30, or ill need to explain quite a bit for that restocking fee!

Also, what do you guys recomend as a diff lube? 85-140?

Yes, 30 spline, assuming factory.

80W90, GL-5

they recomend 85-140. I thought of royal purple (employee discount=anything cheap) or lucas. I personally love lucas. Never thought of Valvoline. Hate penzoil. Castrol? I sell alot but have never used it. Pure guard is another cheap/decent alternative.

run 90W. no need for synthetic, but since you can get a smokin deal why not?

penzoil is the worst oil availible. any penzoil flavor.

I run 15-40W royal purple in my runner. man, I tell you, that oil made a big difference in performance.

otherwise, i run napa brand everything else. it is bottled locally by Valvoline. and Valvoline is the good stuff. hahaha! NAPA get the good stuff! :flipoff2:

No, i never have.

Oreillys(puregaurd)=Havoline
Lucas 1qt=7.01
Royal purple 1qt=9.00
Puregaurd 1qt=2.59
Synthetic Puregaurd=5.00

I try to recomend people away from Penzoil but no one cares how it will effect long term wear on their engine/gears. Oriellys cheaper by around a Dollar and even says "Bottled by Halvoline Oil blahblahbalh"

they recomend 85-140. .

So who is they? I thought it was either straight 90w or 75w-90.

Anyway, for me it's Amsoil in the automatic transmission and PS, Redline synthetic in the manual trans, and diffs, and Mobile 1 in the engine.

My Haynes manual recommends 80W90.

Haynes? Everyone can see that there's no T in Haynes...:D:D

FSM says: 75W-90 GL-4 or GL-5.

(Of course I don't think there's much difference between 75W-90 and 80W-90 but still.....Haynes?)

Whoopty do. 75W90 vs 80W90. Whats wrong with Haynes? Sure its got some generic s*** in it but in terms of its fluid recomendations and capacities it rarely differs more than a tiny bit from the FSM. If you can explain to me how much I would notice a difference between 75 and 80 i am all ears

Somewhere i read that Aussie recomended the 85-140 but after reveiwing the site they said what ever factory recomends.

Im thinking a Straight Royal purple in the rear and a 50/50 lucas or royal with PureGaurd or castrol

Did you not read my post? I said there isn't much difference between 75W90 and 80W90 so save your ears.

Big difference however between the FSM and Haynes on the amount of information inside for repairing, troubleshooting, adjusting, etc. Your owner's manual has all the capacitites and fluid recommendations....you don't need Haynes or the FSM for that.
