I started using Amsoil because I could not get Mobil 1 in a reasonable weight for the Texas heat. I was buying Amsiol 20-50 racing in 16 gallon drums then when I got the Excursion and switched to 15-40 Marine and Diesel and using that in all my cars and boats. I was buying 40 gallon drums as the Excursion 7.3 takes 15 quarts. I picked up the barrels at their headquarters in Superior Wisconsin about a mile from my in-laws house and saved shipping. So I have had a preferred customer and lately a dealer membership for almost 20 years. I never sold oil or products to anyone else I just had it for my own use. But lately Wal-mart has Mobil 1 in the weights I need in 5 quart jugs for less than the per quart price of a 40 gallon drum from Amsoil. Didn't have to think about that too long and now buy oil down the street.

Getting road dust in my jack compartment…anyone else have this issue? Just noticed today when I was changing out some locking lug nuts. Pretty sure the dust was not there prior to my trip to the mountains. not really concerned about the dust but wondering if water could be a problem.

There is a vent with a rubber flap on both sides of the rear quarterpanel under the bumper, and it might allow some dust in. Generally it is for venting pressure when you close doors, etc. (at least as I understand it). I wouldn't worry a whole lot.

Been meaning to look in manual but always forget. how do you use normal intermittent wipers vs auto sensor when you pull lever down once? The auto can be finicky and would like the normal intermittent.

If you unplug the rain sensor by the rear view mirror, your wipers become "normal" intermittent wipers.

My aunt is having an issue with her 2015 Land Cruiser, the AC fan comes on randomly when the car is off and she has had a Toyota/ trusted shop look at it and replace the fan ECU.

The AC works correctly when the vehicle is running.

It keeps happening any ideas?

Are you saying the AC is not working correctly? Does it do this when not set on automatic?

I remember reading that the fan will come on and off to to remove humidity when the system is set on automatic.

When you key on there is a relay for the fan, and the relay is likely stuck in the closed/on position. Fix if that is the problem is to replace the relay.

There is also the possibility it’s the beginning of problems caused by water in the wrong place. Check the other threads on windshield leaks, clogged sunroof drains, and electric gremlins.

When you key on there is a relay for the fan, and the relay is likely stuck in the closed/on position. Fix if that is the problem is to replace the relay.

The relay should be in the main distribution box in the engine bay.

I'm getting a travel trailer that requires a brake controller. (My 680# Hiker doesn't have brakes.) A Redarc Tow Pro Elite arrived yesterday, and I've read all of the install threads.

Question: Some install to the right of the steering wheel, and some to the left. Is there any logic to these choices, or purely personal preference. From my driving position I can see the left side, while the right is obscured. So far, I don't have any other aftermarket switches, although a LRA tank may be in my future, if that makes a difference.

Personal preference, I think. I put mine to the right where I can reach it to press the button if I need to apply brakes quickly, and to adjust it. I'm right handed, so maybe it feels more natural that way?

Same for me. I can't really see it in fact, but the override brake button is right is good reach location, even blind.

The difference is if you want to turn on the trailer brakes manually and drive at the same time which hand do you want on the trailer brake and which on the steering wheel?

Sometimes going down a step hill I'll put on and off the trailer brakes while going slow down the hill in low gear. I'll do this so the trailer is not pushing the LC200 down the hill.

Has anyone else had there rear pads wear quicker than their fronts? Just curious. When I changed out my pads last week rears were down to metal basically and fronts still had meat left on them.

I've seen that when someone drives around with the parking brake on.
