Now that people have posted good cabin air filters, what are some recommended air filters for the engine bay?

I'm a big fan of the Airaid disposable air filters: Airaid disposable on Amazon

It's a disposable synthetic blend main filter with a depth pre-filter that catches all the big stuff before it can clog the main filter. No oiling, no muss, no fuss. And the sealing gasket is thick and squishy to provide a good seal in the air box.

I run a Filterminder vacuum gauge on my air filter housing and these filters last at least the 24,000 miles they are rated for - especially good here in the high desert.

What size hex bolt head fits in the TLC Roof rack channel and doesn't spin?

The fuel door won’t open on my 2015 LX570. The fuel door mechanism has a small plastic rod which is actuated to open/close. On Saturday, I went to pump some gas and pulled the fuel door handle with no luck. So, I ended up taking it to the dealer. Has any one experienced a similar problem before? I searched and found no results.

I know this has been answered by other but as a PSA for anyone else reading this, the door still unlocks but without the spring to pop it out it re-locks when you let go of the lever under the dash. Until you can get the $5 spring, wedge something small under the lever. I used a mini-Altoids can for a couple of months until I could get to the dealer. Anything that is about 2" long should do to keep the lock disengaged until you can get around to open the door. Once you start your gas pumping, go back around and remove your wedged object so you can close the door when you're done and have it stay closed.

I measured the channel at 10mm. The internet says this is bigger than 3/8 square on a Carriage bolt, and less than 7/16 square. I will report back if 3/8" doesn't work.

Half of mine were missing on my '11 when I got it. Dealers sell them in packs of 10. Not cheap, but IMO they are worth the price.

Stupid question related to ARB rear bumper hardware. Why are the wheel studs smaller than what's on the 200? Just realized this when I went to put splined lug nuts for my new RWs on the carrier and it was a no-go.

Also, does anyone know the size of the lock nut used to hold the spindle on? I cross threaded one of mine. ARB couldn't help, said to go to the hardware store!

I purchased a tiny Sandisk 512GB USB flash drive to put music on and tested with a small number of files (a couple of artists and a couple of albums for each) to confirm it's compatible with the infotainment system. The system pretty much instantly indexed the music and I was able to use the browse button to select an artist, etc. I pulled the flash drive out and copied the rest of my desired music files to it. I touched the album cover when the music started playing next time in the car and a message popped up briefly indicating it was going to reindex the music. I've had it in for a few weeks now, but the browse button still isn't enabled. Music plays and I can use the < and > buttons to skip between folders, but without the browse functionality, it's largely useless because there's no good way to select the desired album to play. The file count, folder count, a number of folder levels are all within the limits listed in the manual (the limits are something like 9999 files, 3000 folders, 8 folder levels) - I've got around 9800 files and less than 1000 folders. My folder structure is root > artist > album. No individual folder should be exceeding the per folder file limit. I have not gone on any long drives yet; nothing longer than 25-30 minutes.

So the question is - how long should I expect the indexing to take when I'm reasonably close to the limit on the number of files and does the indexing have to occur on 1 trip or does it continue where it left off each time you start the car? I've been hoping it just takes time, but I'm starting to wonder if it's ever going to finish.

This is for a 2020 LC HE.

I have a 64GB drive in mine, with only about 3500 songs. It is only there as a backup to the backup that is on my phone, which I only use if there is no cell service to reach my Amazon on-line music. I will say that is is glacially slow at finding folders and songs, the interface is terrible. If you try scrolling a bunch of folders, at some point it hits a limit and won't respond until a time limit (presumably to force you to pay attention to driving). What I ended up doing is first something like you did, folder paths of root > artist > album. But I don't like fussing around with finding an album to listen to (and it's just too slow), so I also have a folder "AllMusic" off the root, that has a copy of the same music all in one big folder. Being near the top folder (alphabetically), it's easy to find, then I just hit the Shuffle button and off it goes to randomly play tunes.

If I do nothing, it drills into the very top folder (10,000 Maniacs), very top album (Blind Man's Zoo), then it starts to play the first song (Eat For Two). Every single time.

I will say that having music on a USB drive delivers the highest quality sound, as long as you burned them using the highest sampling rate. It's too bad the interface is so awful.

I also have various options on my iPhone available through BT, but as @KLF says there are times when you don't have a connection available and want to listen to some tunes.

It sounds like the interface on the 2020 is better than on your 2015. Once everything is indexed, it allows you to select an artist and a few other categories - you're not limited to just browsing the folders directly. Yes, I converted my FLAC rips to high bitrate MP3.

SQOD: Previous owner got the water pump done in february at a local independent, coolant is just a little below the "L" on the reservoir so I was going to add some, but now that I've read a lot of coolant threads here I dunno if I should add Toyota super long life coolant or just distilled water since i cant really verify what coolant is in it?

IMO, I don’t think it matters all that much. The independent shop probably used whatever brand they keep on hand and didn’t go through the trouble of buying the Toyota brand. And what was in the cooling system prior to the work done? Unless you asked for (or they charged you for) a cooling system flush and new coolant, a lot of what’s in there now is what was in there before.

Plus, the volume of fluid you’ll need to add to bring the level up between L and H is quite small compared to the total system capacity.

check the DOT date and make sure they aren't dry rotting. are you currently running wheel spacers? If not, you might need them if they contact your UCA.
Other than spacers, you'll need to move your front liners forward and trim some plastic on the step side. Also, sensor lift, possible AHC offset, and alignment.

LX here: l never use the easy exit feature of AHC for fear that overusing the system will lead to earlier component failure. Am I nuts? Or am I better off using the system often to keep it in good shape?
