WOW, I beat Christo to this tidbit of information by posting it a whole 11 minutes.

I guess I'm not the only one with very little to do today.

no transfer case shifter?

Hmm.. I likey :D

I am happy they kept the more traditional 1/4 window shape, although it does need a vent louvre somewhere on that 1/4 too.. :frown:

I see signs of a major powerplant change as the exhaust is on the opposite side, and Toyota tends to do that only when the engines are notably different than a previous model (unless its a diesel perhaps) ...

Push-button low range ? perhaps...It seems virtually all 4x4s have gone away from levers

And Yes.. the rotary switches on the center console are a GOOD sign

Good luck designing a back bumper Christo... that sweeping rear cover will make it interesting to blend an aftermarket unit into the body lines :crybaby:

i think the rear lights look rather porsche like. interesting without a transfer case shifter.

The overall effect is like a Highlander, esp. the rear quarter where the thick D pillar and stepped body (taillights sticking out) are characteristic of the Highlander form.

I don't like the resemblance to the Highlander in profile & rear 3/4...that's unfortunate, imo.

Thats the first thing that came to mind when I saw it, Highlander, I'm sure the US market version will be trimmed out to look a bit better, but so far I don't like what I see, starting to blend in more with everything else out there.

I think your point is still valid.

Yes, they still do have 5 lugs! :)

I touched up one of the images and added the 18 inch wheels from the 03-06 100. I will see if I can get my designer to change the color. I think it will grow on me...

Hmmm...let's see, I'll guess Toyota will add about 15 more horespower for the new model..making it again, lagging behind, all others in power for a $55,000 dollar flagship vehicle. Time will tell...and someone please prove me wrong.

i would guess more like 100 more hp....

Looks like a FX45 & Toureg got it on... thumbs down from me.

Spy shots of the new 100 series?????????

new 100 series???

How about spy shots of the new LAND CRUISER

You can see the faint outline of "LANDCRUISER" under the tape on the rear gate if you look closely. I think it is another step in the wrong direction. The rear end looks very much like a Porsche Cayenne looking at it straight-on. Front and rear bulges on the side look almost Armada-like. Ugh.

Looks like a Lexus/Range Rover hybrid.

The current GX470 model already has 270 HP with the 2UZ-FE engine, but it's still way behind more modern designs, especially it's european competitors. Even a 4.4 V8 Range Rover or Discovery have around 300 HP, not to mention the supercharged (and superexpensive) version with 400 HP. I know the engine philosophy in the US-market oriented vehicles is differente, but even a TrailBlazer gets 273 HP from it's 4.2 liter six...

I would bet on that, too. Purely mechanical controls will soon be just a vague memory.

I don't like it either. It looks too much like a Land Rover.

Oh well, I guess I'm done with new Toy models. :flipoff2:

BTW: Every time I see a highlander I think "damn the dimensions look an awful lot like my 100".

wait - is the FJ Cruiser a Land Cruiser?? just kidding.....

The question is wheelbase on the new 130 series. The current 100 is 112 inches so I wander what the wheelbase will be. The new wrangler 4 door is 116 inches and the gl450 is like 121 inches. I hope Toyota does not take the LC wheelbase over 120.

Also, the nose is way to long and the rear is way to short. Looks weird.
