Based on the pics, the new body doesn't do much for me.

I'm pretty sure my 2004 will last a few decades. I'll keep it.

Just noticed your signature, I had a 66 Corvair CORSA Turbo, wish I had had the money to fix it up, beautiful car, and very unique.

My first car was a '64 Spyder Convertable. I've always had one since that time. They are actually not very expensive to own or fix.There are lots of good parts sources new and used out there.
They have a cult following not unlike the Landcruiser.
This one is in really great shape having been professionally restored in the mid '90's.
It only has 32K on it and it's a baby doll.
My 62 and my Corvair are my favorite rides.........gm

heard all the same things when the 100 came out, and the 80 came out, and when we got coil springs, and fuel injection.

The shape is very cruiserish still, and will date the previous models very quickly.

It looks alot better than I was expecting.

I think this is the only way it will ever look good. It's just a shame, one less barn door 80 series in the world.

My first car was a '64 Monza Spyder coupe... white with black interior. It belonged to a neighbor.. I was 15.. $350 and in perfect condition other than the turbo was froze up and the throwout bearing was shot. My dad and I pulled the motor and put in a new clutch.. the Rajay turbo was a bitch to rebuild. I loved that car.

Oh yea, just to stay on topic I believe the 2008 Land Cruiser is NOT very appealing. Of course beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and eventually will either grow on you or tank like an Edsel.

I'll know soon enough the disposition on my 2005.. I may order a 2007 LC without the rear wing.. or buy the Lexus version. I wish the Lexus was available in Thunder Cloud.

I heard the soon-to-be-released LS460 sedan will have completely electronic (rackless) steering. I wonder if this suggests the next LC will have something similar? First they change recirculating ball to rack & pinion, then rack to full drive-by-wire. BTW, don't all vehicles sold in the US from some near future date have to have those lame auto tire pressure sensors?

100 Series front Drive

Does the 100 series have a front diff?
If so, it looks to be missing in this pic.

I'm not really qualified to chime in on 100 series topics, but that thing is ugly as h*ll. It does look like a generic GM SUV. What are they thinking? More plastic, more bling, less Land Cruiser MOJO(even less than the current 100). I'm keeping my 60! No plastic, no bling, all Land Cruiser with no arguments.

In the FWIW category, according to my dealer, this is the vehicle he saw a couple of weeks ago at the annual dealer meeting in Texas. Be interesting to see if any last minute design tweaks are implemented or if they go ahead and introduce at the auto shows in January.

Not so fast Drew. Give it a chance still.

When the 80's came out the Cruiser owners dogged it 24/7. Then look what they found out later?

Same happened with the 100 and KA POW....the 100's a much improved beast again.

Let's HOPE this trend will continue (though I'm not holding my breath )

Dad keeps all of his cars absolutely beautiful. You would die for his FJ-62. Looks better than it did new, I would warrant. I am hoping to buy it from him one day.
