Trails were pretty slick from rain the day before we got there. Easy trails became much more difficult. Winched out of this predicament using a snatch block uphill and a bridle attached to a winch extension line to rear bumper to pull the rig back onto the trail.

I think your bride caught the spirit of the pucker moment perfectly... lol.

Glad that things worked out just fine in the end.

Perfect sentence structure.

From my vantage point I saw the slide and then more slide and all I could imagine was him tumbling off the mountain as it was very steep on the passenger side.
The hundos did not follow. We backed out and found another way.

@BMThiker , Golden Mountain sucks in the wet for sure! Thought DigDug was surely going over on that one! Glad all was well.
Worse now since there has been relatively 0 trail maintenance - kinda like old times but more ricks protruding.

that's why I like dry desert :steer:

I once slid like that in a Kansas Offroad park: the Blazer slid in 2 tire ruts, but 45 degrees off: front passenger and rear driver tire were in the same rut, the other two outside  - fortunately, it was on rather flat territory

protruding ricks are particularly vexing :hmm:

Did a similar slide in a FJ60 but backwards. Steep, muddy, rocky road in NE AL running BFG KOs that loaded up with mud. Could not climb the road and in backing down with brakes all 4 locked up into a slide. Thought I was going to take out the rear glass on a tree but stopped just short.
