I am planning on an 0700 departure from the south side of CLT ...

@AlbertoSD, @forrest5000 and myself will be rolling out of the ATL area on Friday morning headed to Cullman.

I have to deliver a radiator to a client there then we will be heading to the park.

@elkaholic should be right behind us.

I realize that a rigid agenda for each day is out of question. This is fun, not a business meeting. However, is there a plan to round up strays and such as they roll in during the day?

It is really fair for me to ask for plan details from others when I don't know which end is up. But what the hay; I guess I am the jerk in the peanut gallery on this one.

Thanks

AFAIK Larry, it's just gonna be hanging out. I assume we can make a base camp somewhere and people can meet there.

My phone # is public so anyone can feel free to text/call me.

I arrive at ATL 6pmThurs evening, driving to Cullman Comfort Suites.

Will check out park first thing Friday and wait for peeps to arrive.

Mobile phone 206-678-2213.

Larry - I will bring the peanuts...

Hello All
I was hoping Ward would check out the park on Friday morning and get a feel for the trail difficulty. We can meet after lunch at the main gate on Friday and at 9am on Saturday. Those that are not going to be there at those times, please check in by phone or text with Charles, Ward or Onur. If we know you are there, we can come find you.
We can start on the green trails, see how they are and maybe try a blue if some or all are comfortable.
Peter

I will secure added coverage on the rental and report back.

Doesn't Southwest serve Birmingham? :)

I would love to join, but I have a nine month old at home. I can't even find time to install the OME lift sitting on the garage floor. The wife ain't having it! :( To be fair she let me go wheeling yesterday :) but traveling away from home on my days off isn't likely. Take lots of pics for me.

my last visit to stoney lonesome I crushed one of the running boards on that trip. Shortly after I yanked the drivetrain out of the 70 series and put it in my 40 :) I might drive the 40 down this weekend or the 100.

I can't count how many times I have thought about stealing the drive train from my BJ74 for my 40. Like at least a 100 times in the last week. Your setup in the 40 looks awesome.

Thanks Ward. I figured you could scout the trails, talk with the staff and other wheelers and review the trail map to come up with trails for our semi-intrepid group.

thanks. The 70 series really grew on me for the 6 months or so i drove mine before pulling the drivetrain. I even tried sourcing an arb bumper for it telling myself that if I can get one that I wont part the truck. Inevitably I succumbed to my original plans and pulled the drivetrain. It had a respray covering up some scary rust under the sliding windows and it was rhd which I hated. The 40 was really transformed with that drivetrain donation, I literally wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I did however just secure a drivetrain from a 1989 bj71 to swap my 3b turbo out in favor a 13bt :)

I'm no 70-series onur/owner, but I've owned one shy of a dozen cruisers in my tenure. I do not treat them nearly as nice as most of you. I'm a local cruiser fanatic and I'ma be motor-housing in on Friday evening. I love this park, and ya'll prolly will too. I'ma bring the DD'er so look for a silver hunnerd-series.
