That/s a pretty good shishkaBOB you did on that truck :). Now are you going to build a trailer to make up for the cargo room you just lost?

I have had to much time to think so yet again i have changed direction.
I noticed that Mr Longfield is now making custom length axles to order so i am going to give something a go.
I picked up a 80 series FF rear that i will narrow to the 60s width and run a set of Longfield axles with his hub eliminators.
I could just run 60 series Poly Performance axles but a few of you have said they don't perform as well as expected.

Why not keep the 80 axles stock width? With that lift height, a couple extra inches in track may not be a bad thing...

With the wheels i am running and the spacers needed to clear the calipers the track will be wider than stock and the rubber will stick out past the flares.
Hopefully not enough to attract VIs, there are a lot of dick head cops here who are out to save the world from the wheeling menace.
Once finished i plan on dropping the suspension as low as i can without killing all my wheel travel.
Given the size of rubber on it she isn't really that tall.

A friend came over so i put him to task striping the rear diff.
Once everything was pulled off i had him hack off the ends of the housing holding the spindles.
Going to take them into work and have one of the guys lathe off the remaining housing so they will press into my narrowed 60 housing.
Going to use the center section of the 80 housing to make a third member holder for when i set up gears.
Trying to set them up on a bench is as bad as using a vise, well no more.

Thanks Todd, until i can work again i don't have much of a life other than the interweb and reading.
I do go into work on occasion to have lunch with the guys but other than that i'm at home.
You should post up some pics of your new truck, how's the engine coming?

I posted a picture in the registry thread.
And I haven't even started pulling anything, Life gets in the way.
Well I did pull the valve cover and saw nothing outta place, But compressed air in the cylinder tells a different story.:D

Got the spindles cleaned off, narrowed housing ends bored out for a nice press fit.
Pressed one in the housing, bolted up the backing plate w/ caliper.
I will press in the other spindle and burn them both in.

Went back over the rear quarters cause i didn't like the bodywork i had done, was a little wavy.
I want it straight when i lay it into a tree.
I will be using the flares off a toy PU but i have to find a way to mount them that doesn't look like crap.

Nice to see your back at 'er.

It's good to be able to work on it again, the surgeon says i can work my hand and wrist so i do what i can.
My son has been a big help.
Hope to get the housing done today.

Axle is back in, i cut down the backing plates and welded them up.
Looks like the Ebrake cables will work without issue, nice.

That rear axle is sweet

"I wanted it straight when i lay it into a tree"

I couldnt do that... I think after i layed the paint it would have stayed, but more power to you.

Getting a few more things painted and back together.
I don't know if i want to continue the black on the window frames around the back or stop with the rear door.
Was toying with the idea of doing some kind of TEQ symbol stripe thing.
I think the TEQ is to small in this shot, i don't know if the whole idea works or not.

woah! That is amazing!:eek::eek::eek: Now I want a 60 series to buildup!
