Very cool to see the new engine in Casey! very cool indeed! See ya at SAS!
I'm on the downhill of getting my 60 back on the road. Engine fires suck! 🤬
I highly recommend having a fire extinguisher in your rig.

With the help of some very generous people I am able to get it back up and better than ever. A sincere thank you is in order for this awesome Cruiser community. Looking forward to tipping a few cold ones with my extended family. See tou guys in a few weeks.

Yeah, yeah, his engine looks nice…but it seems to be shaped like a big V…mine is more in a straight line. What’s up with that??🙉🙉🙉

3 weeks from hitting the road seems like a good time to rework the driveline... anyone else going full-stupid?
Don't worry you're not alone....
Didn't get a thing done this weekend other than storm clean up either.

Folks can join along the way as well.

FYI the bypass there is illegal and used to have cable across it, I’m sure the cable has been torn down and not raised back up, last time I was up there it was laying on the ground, you can take the long way around it though still and you come out little bit before the lake

The bypass I was referring to was the long way around that you mentioned. Thank you for the clarification. I didnt realize there was a shortcut bypass that folks shouldnt go up.

@ChickenDaddy if you decide to rebuild that my buddy has a yard of cruiser I can prob get ya whatever you need for good price

Good to know and thanks for that. I was just planning on braking it down for parts until a few of yall put the rebuild it bug in my head??? Not sure if it would be worth it $ to rebuild or just find a new donor? I am planning on pulling the motor this week and transferring it to my old 450 just in time to roll with you guys to SAS5

Man I'd love to, but 18 hours to Amarillo is rough. I'll see what my co-driver says.

I can't make you and its not safe to drive that many hours straight but it is a ton of fun traveling as a group. The reactions we get along the way is worth it to me.

Ok y’all I’ve been quiet on here because I wasn’t sure if we could make it. Well, despite work schedules, life with kids, and no power steering in the 60 we’re IN. First year so we figured we should probably go full send. Or medium send. I dont’t know, but whatever we’re coming.

So ….. anybody got a tent site at the KOA they are giving up or want to share? We’re not looking for the party people - we’re quiet, non-drinker 40 year old punks. Don’t mind hangin with some folks having some beers, but don’t want to be up all night. Kids will be on vacation with gramma so it’s just my wife and I and our absolute rustbox 60.

Otherwise, we’ll camp elsewhere. Wanted to check here first.
