I had a chance to look this over, it has some rust issues and the front windshield apparently was not installed correctly, therefore the excessive use of silicone around the windshield. No idea about any rust issues in the windshield frame. Some rust bubbles behind the rear wheels, easy access for repair. Seems like some bondo in other places maybe? No idea how the metal is under the pop top structure where it is attached to the top. I didn't see any rust in some of the other more common areas. The owner definitely didn't spend any time cleaning it up before leaving. Rear bumper is bent a little. Rear upper tail light assemblies had moisture in them, I understand they were replaced not too long ago. Did not hear it run or be able to drive it as the battery was still being charged. Under hood looked normal as far as I could tell. I would not pay what he is asking, but I am not in the market :-) just was cool to be able to see one and look it over.

I’ll post up some more interior and engine pics. I started it today and took her for drive to stretch her legs. I don’t use it as it’s not mine so the batteries died, but they are on a charger now. The owner says he’s flexible and just make an offer and he’ll consider it. It’s by no means perfect, but with some price negotiation I think it’s a superb rig. For the record, I don’t get anything from the sale so I’m just giving my thoughts. I’m also looking at it vs my personal Troopy experience. @coldtaco we need to get you back over here to drive it so you can give a third party opinion. ;) Ask up any questions and I’ll do what I can.

I would like that.

Here’s a few pics I snapped while showing it. If someone wants to FaceTime or something with me to see start, etc. just let me know.

I’ll try to get some unbiased pics of “trouble” spots too.

Well, I got to drive this today. It sat about a week and last night the temperature was at or slightly below freezing. Daniel does keep a trickle charger on it. It started fine with one glow cycle, bumped the idle up a little for warm up. Then off to the races :-) sure is a smooth engine compared to my ole 2H. It accelerates nicely from stop in second gear. Acceleration through the rest of the gears is good. Turbo seems well suited. I only was able to drive it at about 50mph max. Clutch is a bit on the stiff side but it is a heavy duty one.
Some other observations. Steering wheel needs to be properly centered if that would bug you. Seems like the alternator brakes are loose you can see the alternator shaking some. The seats are nice and comfy. Steering is lighter than on my truck but that might be closer to how it should be?
It has too much rust for my taste, but then I just hate rust on my cars.
If anyone is serious about this you really should take the time to see it in person. There is a shop that supposed to be familiar with Toyota diesels near by so it would definitely be worth paying for a pre-purchase inspection.

I’ll snap undercarriage, engine and rust spot pics so all can see. Nothing to hide here.

Is this still available? Does it have e-lockers?

Yes and no. I’m going to upload more pics today.

More detailed pics of trouble areas.
