Wonder why you have to pull up on the gear shifter like that to get it out of gear? So you can only have the ac on
and fan running on one set speed?

EDIT dug in and found what the issue is. There is a part called a “shifter seat” which wears down and causes this issue. It’s a $20 part that I just ordered OEM from Camelback Toyota, and will be installed fixing the issue this weekend - just never has been an issue for me and never got around to fixing it. Also, I was planning on putting an H55 5-speed transmission (there are still a few brand new ones out there) in the truck in the next year or two, so it just didn’t matter. Either way, driving just like it is, I’ve done tons of adventuring through AZ and Utah with no issues.

The fan works perfectly at speeds 1-3, and when the A/C is on, it will trip the circuit breaker at speed 4 (the highest). Also a pretty common thing, and I searched the threads here searching for a solution. Driving around every day in the AZ summer was fine for me at speed 3, but my fix for it would be to replace the switch for it. There are a couple threads that explain the issue / fix. Just never was an issue for me enough to spend my time fixing it.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you’re interested come check it out! We can buy Murf a beer and he’ll tell you all about it. Murf and Camelback Toyota has taken great care of her.

That was my wife's idea to park it there. She's smarter than me (dont tell her I told you if we ever happen to meet). Had to move it this morning because I left it there - apparently no overnight parking is allowed. Someone was nice enough to text me "Beautiful truck, there's a tow notice sticker on it though"

I'm going to start leaving it there during the daytime though lol

*** Dug in and figured out the shifter issue where you have to lightly pull up on the gear shift to get out of reverse - which has never been an issue for me. It's the Shift Seat, found near the bottom of the page here. Land Cruiser 4 speed Transmission.

Luckily mine isn't too bad and will be an easy fix. Just ordered the OEM replacement from Camelback Toyota, and it will arrive tomorrow.

I will be replacing that this weekend.

Someone PM’d me asking if there is trail rash on the truck - pic 13 on the first page made him inquire. Those are dust streaks. The truck needs a bath after all of this rain but wanted to post these in case others are wondering. Took these pics about an hour ago.

Good eye catching that, and I never even thought to mention it! When did they start doing the headlight washers? 85? I forget... anyhow...

It was done by one of the previous owners. I think it was Aaron from everythingfj60.com - I could ask him. I recall chrome removal being purposeful, and that it was intended to fill the gaps. Rocker panel strips can be found on the classifieds, but I loved the clean look. Murf here on the forum knows of another way to replace it if that’s your thing. I also looked into replacing the headlight washer sprayers, but... I liked the clean look, never had a need to use them even with the adventures we’ve taken, and I had planned a frame off resto with a V8 swap probably 2-5 years down the road where I would have properly filled in every gap and hole. The things a growing family gets you to do....

I purposefully chose to not do small repaints or body fills or anything that wouldn’t be detrimental to ignore because I’m proud of how solid the truck is, and I want whoever buys it to know exactly what they’re getting. However, anything that the truck has needed, I did immediately. Again, Murf can attest to that.

There are too many of these things with $500 Maaco paint jobs and in reality it’s a more expensive headache down the road for you, and most likely hiding major problems.

On top of that I’m including the roof rack, hi lift, wheel attachment for hi lift, OEM tools with tool bag, complete factory service manuals, trail tool kit - for mechanical and electric, 10lb CO2 tank, ARB tire repair kit, ARB deflator, electric air pump as a backup, and probably some other things I’m not remembering.
