This came off of a fire truck powertrain that I purchased in the early’90s, and has been sitting in a dark corner of my warehouse ever since! If you ever wondered what that smaller splined section on the tailshaft of a 3speed transmission is for, THIS IS IT! I will also fit a ridiculously obscure H41 4speed that came with a 3speed tailshaft, mentioned only because there’s a certain person who trolls the classifieds that will bring it up if I don’t!😛

What do you do with a rear PTO? Get creative! The first one I sold 30 years ago went to a roofer who built a custom forklift for the back of his Landcruiser that he could boost shingles onto roofs with! The last one that I sold a few years ago went to a guy who was going to attach an electric motor to it and make his Landcruiser dual-fuel!

$400 plus the ride

Wish I had the funds to buy all these oddities when they come up. Very interesting!

X2 then they would just sit on a shelf in the garage 🤔

Yes

Someone can finally live out the dream of this early brochure! Maybe without the sketchy saw. ;)

Extend the chassis, center diif and you have a 6x6!!!
Yes, this is where my mind goes!
I've put some thought in to this in the past. If I was thirty years younger I would spin rear axle around and mount the diff so it's offset to the left. Mount th diff on the opposite side than normal. Mount the axle in a small trailer. Only down side it only matches the vehicle in high range. The four holes in the back frame crossmember to use as mount for the driveshaft ended 9/74.
