@half k cruiser the easiest way for you try and understand this process is think of varying spring spacer thicknesses, all changing height but not spring rate.

Thats what dead coils do.

The softer rate becomes slightly firmer, as the soft rate coils become more vertical as the coil extends, but its not massively different in its operation by trimming the length, only by a small % only in its last inch or so of travel.

The concept still works very much the same, just the height changes mainly, with a very small spring rate when fully drooped change.

So the smaller wire dia rate change is only while the smaller dia wire is in play as an active wind on the last wind left as it becomes active.

@dockbox those UCA's look very interesting. I've been reading many people's experiences with aftermarket UCA's and the blackhawk appear to support all the features, that everyone laments not having. Do you have any pictures of these next to an OE UCA for comparison? Also, I'm going NO higher than 2 inches with my suspension lift. Will these honestly be too much?

These should work great with only 2 inches of lift. Normally, you lose caster when a vehicle is lifted. These have built in 3 degrees of extra caster, but shouldn't be too much as there is still adjustability to dial in the proper alignment.

we currently are backordered on heavies and front coils. They are in the next shipment that should be here in 6-8 weeks

Hey Kevin, do you have the 80 series stage 4 heavy in stock? Might be looking to order next month for a new project.

Sounds interesting ?

A stretched 80 series chassis under an early 90s LHD Troopy body with a 1HD-FT (or FTE if I can get one for a good price)... well... that the plan at least :D Just need to sell the 200. Hopefully you'll get to see it on next year's trip

We have done lots of FT and FTE conversions, and getting more power out of them to make them nice to drive and more economical.

Will be an interesting combo.

Have also done afew rear coil conversions on 79 chassis using 105 [5 stud 80] chassis parts and housing.

Feel free to get hold of me if you want any details, parts, etc.

Thanks Darren. I just might do that, especially if you can snag an FTE to ship to me :D But yeah, I'll toss you a PM when the build officially starts.

Sorry for the semi-hijacked thread Kevin.

FTEs are out there, but price wise are $$$ due to being popular.

Finding a good one is the key.

Interested in the 75mm heavy slinky long travel Stage 1 kit
(https://www.endlesshorizonoutfitter...ge-1-heavy-duty-slinky-long-travel-75mm-lift/)

I get that the front coils are 75mm (3"), but am I reading this right that the rears are only 50mm?
"Also provided is a pair of 50mm Lift rear coil-springs"

Will I still get a level 3" of lift on my 80?
That looks to be a typo. Both heights are available. If you get the 3” lift you’ll get 75mm coils front and rear unless you request something different.

Thanks Adam. I was hoping so. BTW, I spent about an hour last night going through all 31 pages of your build. VERY nice and inspired me to follow some of the build you did for my newly acquired LX450 3x locked truck.

I won't have the cash to get the stage 4, but want to get her lifted with the right parts, so down the road I may upgrade to the 2.5 adjustable shocks as I put more weight on the truck.

The Stage1 kit is no slouch and is still going to outperform most other kits out there from my experience. You’ll know when it’s time to upgrade to the Stage4 shocks depending on how you use the truck.

@dockbox: Any foreseeable future for bundling discounts on a proper suspension? (Slinky long travel kit, panhard, control arms, etc)

Maybe in the future as a one off, if overstocked, compared to currently selling out.

Best way is email Kevin with details, and order.
