I'm not talking about the dip on the bottom to make room, I'm talking about the dip in the top surface. But to each its own. Always glad to see some new stuff coming out.

We did that so that you can see what is going on with the winch wire as well as cosmetic reasons. If you don't the front becomes really big.

I would think a cover would be a bad idea. The 100s are bottom breathers. A large portion of the radiator actually gets air from the bumper.

That looks like a big boy winch!

I like it. Nice and clean design, and tucked in. Would be interested to see what a hoop looks like on it, for lights. I like that you can fit a big winch on there, these are not light trucks, especially loaded for expedition. I really like the design for the recovery tabs. I bet that once it's powder-coated black, you won't even notice the dip on the top, and I don't even mind it, it's part of the design.

The winch is a M12k. It will accept that and smaller. The M12k might require the solenoid box to be mounted under the hood. Still figuring that out.

We did include vent holes at the bottom. One of the big reasons for having the opening is so that you can keep an eye on the winch cable. Winches that are completely covered are a pain when it comes to spooling the winch cable in properly.

As to the tow points, those are 3/8" mounts going to the frame. We will still double them up on the outside to prevent side pulls from bending them.

Yup, that one was a copy of this one. Pretty good copy though :D

Christo, is your M12K going to be mounted feet forward? Hard to tell from the pics...

It is feet down but the front is also mounted against the face of the bumper. So it is mounted in two planes. As long as the front is against the face, then it is ok since most of the load is then against the face of the bumper.

PS, we are close. We need to figure the bar work. Sort out some details on winch mounting, solenoid location, license plate location and inner structure of the wings. However this is the final shape of the bumper bottom 1/2.

Are there any plans for integrated fog lights and/or turn signal mounts for the bumper?

doubt it on the turn signals.. You can do it afterwords if you want though. I just had two Hella foglights mounted to my slee rear bumper today.

The front bumper will most likely have an option for a light bar over where the winch is to mount foglights. The next day they spend on R&D for the bumper will most likely involve the light bar.

Christo: I like it! Alot! Are you going to have a piece of rubber weather stripping similar to the TJM abridge the gap between the bumper and body? And I applaud the more 'exposed' winch for visibility and function purposes!

Price?

Loud: Thanks for taking and posting the pics!

Dan, Christo and I were talking about that the other day. Assuming the appropriate trim can be sourced I think it will come with the weather stripping. Although, I feel its just another :princess: option. I just painted under the fender/grille before putting on the bumper.

No idea on the price. As for the rubber stripping, we are going to see what we can do and find. We will have light tabs, but probably not god light inserts. The wings are already an issue to get strong and we have to completely box them to get enough structure. I am not that keen to cut a hole in the front face and thus weaken the face.

I will take some measurements to show the difference between the ARB and ours. But I think we are 4" closer to the body.

What do you mean by doing turn signals afterwords? The factory ones would be removed with the slee and by law you have to have turn signals front and rear.

Where would you put them? Mounting them on top would look horrible and putting them underneath eliminates clearance advantages.

I really would like to get one of these, but giving up integrated fog lights and turn signals is not an option for me.:frown:

The LX has intergrated signals in the bumper. It's not a big deal to modify your parking lights to be turn signals. I don't see the need to compromise the bumpers strength to flush mount turn signals out of all things.
