Yes I was talking about the bumper tabs on the ends of the frame. Here's a picture of one. I removed these for my install. I couldn't believe how flimsy they are. It definitely gives the factory bumper a crush zone.

Its pretty standard for the aftermarket bumpers to require the bottom of that endcap to be trimmed. On my ARB they still have you put a bolt in the top hole after cutting the bottom off. Not sure how Slee's going to do it (spent more time looking at my new back bumper instead) but from seeing it in person the mounts look quite stout.

You have to cut the bottom flush with the frame. We are not using the front hole, but we are using the side holes (two will have to be drilled) as well as the top and bottom holes. The frame mount is made out of 3/8" and formed around the frame horn. This is also the piece that will become the tow point on the front.

do you cut those front pieces off when you install an ARB? Do you get rid of the impact bar??? The reason i ask is the body shop installing my ARB wants to order another impact bar and i told them they dont need it, the ARB will take care of itself.

No new impact bar, it and the styrofoam piece go in the pile with the running boards, old shocks, springs, t-bars, front bumper cover, etc. The ARB comes with a winch cradle/crush zone piece that replaces the crossbar and is what the ARB bar hangs on.

PS - make sure they "pin" the bar in place by drilling and bolting the lower tabs. There's a thread a few months old with someone who didn't and they couldn't figure out why their bar was moving and the gaps between it and the body all f'd up. And when you get it back, hose down those tabs with Rusto, they'll have drilled through the PC (very small area), but it'll now be a place for rust to start.

Waiting list? Place me on it.

Is there a waiting list? I would like one for my 2002 LC, do you think I can get by this summer? I live in CO and would be available when ever the final product is ready. Will it have foglight options? just curious.

Liam dude we should have just done it ourselves instead of the bodyshop. Make sure they leave a large gap between the fenders and bumper for flex, unless you're gonna bodylift then make of close so the lift makes the gap.

Slee, the recovery points, they will be made of the same 3/8" plate ?

Any option for upper bar work? I like the ARB cause of the industrial look uptop.

If anybody wants to give me a deal on their combo bar when slees come out... PM me.

But if slee has upper bar work I will probably go with his.

I would prefer it without the "dip" in the middle.

Very nice looking bumper. Amazing what three years of R&D will produce...

Hey now, we are only 2 years into it :D

We are looking at the bar options. Probably going to have a slimline bumper with the option to bolt on a single hoop. And then we are looking at the jungle gym option for those that like to kill bambi. :D

PS, we are close. We need to figure the bar work. Sort out some details on winch mounting, solenoid location, license plate location and inner structure of the wings. However this is the final shape of the bumper bottom 1/2.
