So the boredom is getting to me. I need something to work on (looking for anything from 40s-80s). Pretty firm on $30K. I realize that is a huge number and maybe it represents my reluctance in ultimately letting it go. I have been saving for a project cruiser in addition to my 60 but the market seems to be running away faster than I can save (LOL). So time to fund some fun!

1985 (7/85) Fj60 with 110K miles currently (drive almost every day so mileage will increase). OME lift with BFG 33/10.5/15 ATs on Fj40 steelies and caps. Lift done two years ago and tires purchased new shortly afterward (maybe 5K miles on tires). Painted about 5-6 years ago and holding up super! No rust anywhere (said all the time but absolute truth here). Put a H55f in it about 3500 miles ago and is working perfectly. ReplaCED Rear main, clutch, TO and pilot bearings. Overhauled T.C. and replace oil pan and gasket. NO LEAKS AT ALL!!! Fully "smogged" 2F with 110K miles. Everything works! (from headlight washers to rear wipers)

Interior is really the only place where issues exist. Cracked dash (under a gray dash cap) and a broken A/C bezel. Speaking of A/C, it is freezing cold! Heat works. Carpet is new with a full mat set. Bluetooth stereo inside Smittybilt center console. Factory cloth seats with no rips or fades (driver is getting a little "baggy" but holding together nicely. Headliner tight and clean.

I will post an overview of pictures and if you want to see anything specific, I will quickly oblige. Build thread is here: Silver Surfer Build 1985 Fj60

I think I'm going to cry!

Was a true pleasure getting to know you Daniel! She is a great old truck and is sure to make heads turn in Cali.

I’m the lucky buyer! Honest seller, great car. Taking it camping this weekend.
Well you can't get a sleeping bag on the sidewalk for 30k in your neck of the woods so I would say you did well. About time mud got some silicon valley :cookie: up in here ;)

hello guys, I'm new and this is my first post so take it easy! This appears to be the group that has the knowledge I seek regarding my first purchase of an FJ60 and I apologize if I am changing the subject. I am not new to purchasing classic cars but am new to determining the value of an FJ60. I've attached some pitctures as the car is in pretty darn great condition.

pros - 125k miles, NO RUST, original everything but wheels, strong motor with no leaks. Paint is fantastic but clear coat is disappearing.

cons - needs a dash replacement and maybe new carpet. headliner is flawless.

Curious what it's worth as prices seem to be rising quickly for clean FJ60s

THANK YOU!

You will probably get more responses in the tech forum for 60s. Just ask what you think it may be worth. Guys do it all the time.

Welcome to the forum! It is a great place to get all your questions answered about these wonderful trucks. To answer your question, I'd value it at 15-19. Low mileage is a HUGE selling point but it doesn't trump overall condition. Strikes against are the hideous wheels and worn out (and too big) tires. That is an easy $1500 fix. Carpet = $450. Dash - $100 (cap) or 600-700 for replacement. Then you get to paint... $$$$

Again, these are wonderful trucks that are somewhat easy to maintain and last forever. Good luck on your purchase.
