looking forward to watching this one!

Got it tore down to engine. Rear main was bad flywheel looked beautiful and clutch had almost no wear. Was to be expected with mileage but good to see none the less. Everything going back in is brand new and Toyota / Aisin.

So with a lifted truck, the problem is my transmission jack wouldn't elevate high enough without cribbing (60 is sitting on its tires). That very cribbing prevented me from just rolling everything out. Engine doesn't need support without transmission on it does it? Maybe it jack truck up and roll completed swap under it then lower and elevate trans.

Oh I feel that pain!
Love all the storage and the overhead drop cords.

I take pics of almost everything! @ff347

Had some time today and officially started some reassembly. Replaced rear main, pilot bearing, clutch, plate and throw out bearing. Made some guide studs out of M12X1.25 bolts. Hopefully will make the mate up go a little easier. Start the split tomorrow (super nervous about the transfer overhaul)!

That's funny, I made the exact same guides. They did help right until I got stuck on the clutch alignment.:bang:
But with the help of two professionals I am back road.

Looks great Brian. Can't wait to see her again.

What length are the stud/bolts? I know that my rear main is leaking slightly and will have to drop the tranny eventually to fix.

@gregnash bolts are 4" M12X1.25

Got everything sealed up and ready to slip in (yeah right!) tomorrow. Thank you @orangefj45 for reassuring me in my panic moment yesterday!

Yeah Bubbli is a cool app!

YAHTZEE!!!! Everything went back together with minimal drama! Cruised around today and got it to 5th! Everything seems to work as before. I can tell I will have to acclimate to shift points and position. All I've ever had were 4spds. Bunch of weird noises for about the first couple of miles. Now seems to be settling in.

Thanks everyone for the parts, help and encouragement. I am so proud of myself right now!!!

Congrats bud, nicely done!!!!!!

The new 5-speeds can be a little "notchy" at first, usually the most noticeably when shifting into 3rd and 5th. That will subside over time. Everything needs to settle in ...... since it's all new.

Started work on a hitch today. Nothing super beefy (not going to be towing anything more than maybe a light trailer. 3" Angle for the frame mounts. 2.5" Square tube for spreader and hitch. With a piece of 1/4" flat stock on top to tap into bumper bolts. I am thinking I will notch the spreader about 3/4 total thickness to better integrate the receiver. Thoughts? this is the current mock up.
