Have you been wheeling yet?

Just to the mall and back lol.....

Actually I've been checking out a few different spots to see how they are fully compressed and so forth. It'll be a blast when I get out there on the rocks.

I've been running 35's since I bought my 100. Let me take that back... I've been running 315/75r16's ;) Last week my wife nailed a bundle of chinese fighting stars on the highway and destroyed one of the rears.. Couldn't find a replacement Dunlop Maxx Traction so I bought a new set of 295 BFG's.

I spend a lot of time debating going with 315's again (they worked great for me) in the end it was the width I didn't care for which led me to the 295/75's. Blah Blah Blah

Chinese stars....ouch. I hope wherever you got your tires from covered you.

In your driveway.....

Haha Nice!

I'm pretty sure I could fit 37s on my truck right now. Doesn't mean I could use them.

35s are not to be taken lightly. Like others have said you open up a new can of worms. Spacers are needed, rehearing is highly recommended. You may have to add longer bumpstops, steering bumpstops, hammer fenders in, replace steering racks and cvs at an exponentially higher rate, buy different shocks, install a body lift, adjust steering for funky geometry, add higher maintenenace UCAs, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Of course if your goal is to build the biggest baddest mall cruiser, you can probably slap a set on with the AHC on high and all it a day.

In your driveway.....

Whoa bro! It's apparent that you got your panties stuck somewhere between your 33's, your fender. I would like to think that every person who chimes in has some great pics of their 35's (whether in their driveway or on a trail) to add. This thread was created so that people like me who just acquired 35's can see others who have done the same and learn from what they've managed to deal with as far as gearing, fit, ride and so forth. It was not created so that people could chime in a bash those who have gone the unconventional route by stepping up from the ever-so-popular 33" tire.

I'm glad I made the jump. Sure, I'm gonna have to regear, I'm gonna have to add spacers, I'm gonna get my butt kicked at the gas pump and join the rest of the LC brethren who manage with 35's. But that's why I'm building my rig as such: to get over the mountain with ease. Not to be seen easier as I walk out of the supermarket.

No offense taken. See you on the trail brother.

Keep calm and wheel!

My pics and observations of 35s can be seen in the 100 series picture thread and the what i did this week thread.

^ And the Beast did fine with 33s :grinpimp:

^^ Wow, lame...

Maybe it's my fault guys but let's keep this as it was intended: to promote the upload of folks with 100's who are running 35's.

So maybe it just comes down to 35's are not for everyone. Very few people wheel their 100 series to the point that they actually need 35's. This was apparent last weekend in Ouray. The guys on 33's were able to take the same lines as the guys on 35's. However, Ouray is a bad example since you don't need 35's to play out there.

Take a more technical trail like the Rubicon. I'm confident that trails like this probably require 35's but how many people actually run the Rubicon in their 100 series?

I will say that the 100 series looks bad A** on 35's!

As has been said before, it's not just 35s, its the 35s at certain widths that become a problem. The reason so many people have them is because they work very well at rolling over obstacles. The price of some minor rubbing against plastic parts in certain situations is small compared to the benefit. That said, if it were a commuter/DD I'd stick with 33s.

Nick, I had 295/70R18's on a bone stock truck (no lift, no spacers) for months without any significant problem. 285/75R18 would have been about the same. And yes, my Radflo Long shocks do a great job.
