I got the intake tube from spectre website and ordered it from summit racing. First I neede to know the right angle, they sell them in increments of 10 degrees. So I took a paper plate and held it in front of the throttle body. Draw a line on the plate from the TB and over to the air box creating an angle. Then measured that with a torque angle meter of all things cause that's all I had. 130 degree is what I got. Then found the right flex adapters on spectre website and again orders from summit. Was cheaper in the end.
The exhaust was a challenge I enjoyed. I wound up with some block hugger hooker super comp that were laying around the shop. I cut the flanges, turned and installed V Band flanges for no leaks.
Overt the t case and out the back. I only had one rusty old hanger that got me by, since I’ve wrapped the exhaust back to the t case and added more hangers.
Bet that sounds somewhat different than the 1fz. I gotta put 2 cats on mine to pass. I got a stock tundra 5.7 muffler to use to keep mine as quiet as possible. How do u like the borla? Any drone?
I was always thinking, if I ls swap, I’m gonna run 2-3 mufflers. I LOVE how quiet my stock exhaust 1fz is. Then again I love the sound of a throaty ls, but I could always run electric cutouts and get both!
I can say When I’m driving my stock 80 w 1fz It’s not like I want it to be louder ever. On a good trip the LS could definatley be quieter tho. At 65 it purrs down the road. Cruising at 80 it can get annoying. Now I have to get the stereo mod
This thing was fairly easy to assemble however no instructions or good pictures to go off of made for a creative time. I still need to mount the winch and set the bull bar locations
In the midst of this bumper build I had a chance to get the much needed rocker panel replaced by a friend in the body shop. Very happy with how it came out, more on the bumpers to come soon
