Very nice! Can't wait to see how you go about quarter protection and skid plate.

Kind of funny thing today. I put the truck in the shop, disconnected the batteries, wiped all the dog snot from the inner windows, sort of buttoned it up....
And as I close the door behind it, I realize I didn't round the top of the brackets off! I'm meant to clean them up, they are kind of square. Funny how all that, and I still forgot something...:bang: oh well, now I got something to do when I get home. :meh:

Looking good;)...

I use to own RaddCruisres, CruiserPilot and I met there a few years back.. He told be he wanted to build a bumper and it turned out great.

Looking forward to the rear quarter protection..

Beautiful bumper. I like the winch tucked away with the low profile fairlead installed.

How do you feel about the trailer hitch square tubing cross member being that low? Do you think it will cause any departure angle scraping? Or is it pretty well offset from the back of the wagon?

I should have taken a pic. If I stand and line up the bottom of the bumper with the bottom of the rear tire, the hitch is ~1" lower. That is part of how the rolled part of the bumper got designed in. I don't rock crawl in the hard core sense. This is more a hunting expedition rig, pulling a trailer with quad/gear, etc. I'll put quarter armor in, and I expect to bang the bottom. Carefully. I've certainly seen lower hitches, but so far, this one has not hit bottom yet.

Only thing to do is run a winch or intigrated hitch, I would prefer the winch 90% of the time you want to go back the way you went in;)...

I wonder if after spending all that time and effort on such a nice bumper- will it change your driving habits in order to preserve it's "pristine-ness"..........or will you proudly post pics of the bumper's first "close encounters" with Mother Earth...? :meh:

I hope he posts pics of any of the above, happening or not!

I will probably use it to 'bump' up against stuff on purpose, I am a believer in keeping a rattle can of touch up paint on the shop.

Maybe its not such an american thing. Body lift where you space the body away from the chassis? Just wondering about the room for the winch? Didnt think there would be enough.

No body lift. I have a 1/4" - 6.3 mm plate laying on the top of the receiver hitch and the winch is bolted
to that. There is just enough room for a Runva 11000 XP winch. If I remember there is about 8.5" - 215 mm
of space.

Sweet. Will deffinatly be doing this i think. Always wanted to leave the hitch reciever as i have a 180 litre tank. And it gives it some clearance
